  • I used to have some of these spiders in our house...Bug bombs are saviors.

  • "Confirmed by DR" #1 lie. Tons of these bite are reported here in Fl. The brown recluse isn't native to Fl. the brown house spider Male looks identical, but has six eyes so it isn't a recluse. Worked for a few years at UF entomology (bugs) and we put quite a few of these "brown recluse" spiders under the micro scope. Non were confirmed as a brown recluse. This lady knows her stuff and shows it well.

  • I was bit by a spider and my face fell off..HA!

  • I got stung really bad about 2 months ago and have not fully recovered yet ... fucking dam loan sharks -_-

  • i'd probably die just by seeing it

  • Though not confirmed as the work of a Brown Recluse. I believe I was bitten by one, on my foot. I concluded it happened overnight, while sleeping indoors in the Southern US. Foot was swollen up greatly and hurt to the bone. And some tiny bite marks appeared, and thereafter dead skin and discharge. Deeply painful.

  • I was bit by one (confirmed bite) in my upper arm buy my shoulder and i was bit out by my grandparents house its a very dry place like a desert. My arm was green and brown and purple, I was having to take steroids and i had to get an anti-venom shot ( not sure exactly what it's called) and i had to take antibotics. It's never hurt it just itched really bad. It sucked

  • I was bit by a brown recluse (confirmed by a doctor) in balmy Louisiana. Good info for more than just the desert.

  • My friend had a confirmed bite up here in NY. They guess that the spider got into his house via a car part he had shipped from Texas.

  • Good upload!

  • this interview is so awkward Y_Y look at camera look at person camera person...

  • rather watch the spider!

  • Do you have any plans to make videos about the survival of the north, with the cold, snow, and animals, and everything else it contains, the same type of video that you have done on the desert, it would be really fun and informative.

    Best Regards

  • Not only in the desert but we have them in Jersey too. my co-worker was on a job and got bit. the mess that bite created was nasty.

  • Poor misunderstood spider. Every one of these I see gets squashed. That is my recommendation.

  • You have chosen a very informative subject for interview, thanks for your good info my friend.

  • Hmmm i was told Arizona does not have Brown recluses but we do have Arizona Brown Spider or violin spider. Which im told is virtually the same thing.thanks for the info..

  • Good information.

  • the brown recluse spider is found all over the the US. we saw them in the southeast all the time and have them in the mid alantic.

  • I was bitten when I was in middle school when I lived in Texas. I was in my restroom and it had landed on me and I tried to brush it off and it bit me. Next day, a lesion spread up my skin and the bite area looked like a pimple and I had to go to the hospital. It wasn't too bad but it hurt a lot. On a side note, I used to react to insect bites very strongly as a kid.

  • I got bitten by a brown recluse. It hurt a lot, but I didn't think anything of it till the next day. The next day my arm hurt a lot and the skin going up my arm was red. The bite area looked like a pimple and was hurt to touch. Being a kid, I figured it was just a bad bug bite and went to school, but at school it got worse. Finally, it was too painful and I went to the nurse. Went to the hospital to get it treated and I described the spider -- brown recluse. Not fatal but very painful.

  • "Spider bite" is a catch-all term for skin infections. Although they may or may not be actually caused by a spider, they just get this name. (I got one on the back of my shoulder once that had to be cut out--twice!) But I guess spiders deserve a fair shake. So what should we call them?
