I prefer the broadway lyrics but these aren't bad! I think the broadway song has comedy in it which really helps Paulette's character. Also I prefer to song the broadway lyrics, they're more fun!:P
I have to disagree, the American lyrics are extremely disconnected. At one point she's moved on from Ireland and is then talking about Sweden.
Plus I think "All the dreams he told me were gutted, all that's left is this weird Enya song" are much better than "And if your Irish boy tires of you, you're allowed to shoot him in the knees" Paulette is not a violent character in that sense so why should there be lyrics like that?
@sunderlandgrl She's not moved on from Ireland... She just gets confused between Ireland and Sweden "You look like the poster for Ireland, long blonde hair and that sweet sunny face... oh wait that's the poster for Sweden, ah screw it i'll never see any place" - It's a well known fact that Swedish Girls are generally blonde with blue eyes!
The American version makes sense too. I have a thing for British people, and I didn't grow up on stories of British heroes. Al you need to know is she has the hots for Irish guys, you don't need to know why. I like the London lyrics, but they are a little disconnected from the other things. One minute she is talking about this, then one minute she is talking about that. But, then again, when I think of Paulette, I don't think of structure.
I prefer the broadway lyrics...
