Why is my computer shutting down itself

Mine just reboots randomly sometimes its evey two days some time twice a day its really scary becouse iv got a really expensive gameing rig -_- What could it be? it just turns of and then starts back up.

Can Someone Help Me please this Is a problem for me! I have Windows Vista And I Have A Setting Called "Power Options" And its set to "Balanced" It use to be set on High Performance but everytime its on there it shutdown my computer so i was wondering is there any ideas that can help me Because i try to play games like World of warcraft, or Flyff, or i even try to render my videos it didnt work so can someone help me because I wanna fix this can get my computer bak i dont wanna take it apart yet!

i had this problem and i solve it.

here is the solution:

1.download and instal latest avira antivirus free

2. scan local drives and move the viruses in quarantin then delete from quarantin

3. go to : right clik on my computer-properties-advanced-s­ettings( to startup and recovery) and the uncheck ,,automatically restart"

4.restart yr pc

5. now u can turn it off and autocatically restart will disapear.

OK i have acer aspire window xp and i just download windows 7 into it i played for a little while and BAM!!! my computer shuts down saying windows shuts down to protect itself it also said to talk to the guy who updated on my computer for further updates WTF whats the problem and HELP PLEASE!!!!

@TheSuperloner123 Hey man ummm sorry i was on a trip for like a while so what you do is you Either talk to the guy who updated your computer ,because he probably toke something out,or just clean the fan and format your computer and it'll be brain new.

I have a gateway laptop and one time I tapped where the fan is next to the keyboard and then it started sounding like a motor and now the motherboards shot beacuse of the fan stopping and overheating.

sounds like you all have a lot of overheating issues to me. Clean out your computers with compressed air or remove your laptop batteries and boot from a direct power source using your PSU cables that came with your laptop.

its called troubleshooting step by step.

@Insan3z It often happens to me when I play FPS (First Person Shooters) but I can play World of warcraft that takes much more space, dunno about the graphics though but it never shuts down.... when I play Css and Dualz it turns of when it's been like 15-30 minutes :o

Sorry buddy. But this was useless. I don't see how turning off your screensaver can stop your PC from Stalling/Turning Off/Or rebooting on it's own. Please change your title to "how to turn your screen saver off"
