I used to use that see-through feature in the display properties but since I updated my 3ds max, all my options in my "display properties" are greyed, so I can't check mark anything. Is there a way I could re-enable my display properties?
@MrIhaveacat No, 3dsMax is not free, it is a commercial product from Autodesk. There are free licenses for students and educators through an educational program available from the Autodesk website.
In maya I usually use different layers for the walls and large objects. But that backface culling thing at the end is incredibly helpful. Does anyone know if Maya 2010 has a similar option? I don't remember backface culling doing anything with the visibility of an object..
hay i3tutorials :3 I have a question to the 2010^^ is it right, that you have the object "Dummy" or something like this? I mean a human-object, you know what I mean? O:
Sorry, one problem with this, I created a Wall in 3D Max and checked the backface cull , it didnt seem to work properly, I tried to add a normal and flip the normals but I still could not see completely through the wall.
Are you using a plane for the walls or the built in wall AEC modifier?
@phalluses Well, both program were developed by Autodesk, and they are commonly used for game modelings, video, and such. So it's a tie. Who knows, it's a myth.
I LOVE YOU!

@MrIhaveacat
Dear Mrlhaveacat,
3dsMax is not free but you can download a torrent of it in a torrent website.
Especially search for '3ds Max with crack'.

This is 3ds max 2009, not 2010, 2010 has a new and improved UI.

@FyzikalKemizt
Dear FyzikalKemitz,
In my opinion, the 2009 version is better, and I don't like downloading a torrent of that version. It's better if you satisfied of what you have.

Is that a preloaded interface for max 2010? It looks like the old interface with all the old icons and setup.
