  • squats really work when u do them properly but if u do really heavy weights it's really dangerous for your lower backn and knees..if you workout for muscle size you can do lighter weights and more reps

  • @Yobrowannabroyo 6-12 is for muscle mass for upper body, for legs is the range quite wider.. I was doing 3 months legs workout where I didn't go lower then 15 reps and it worked for me well..

  • @dlewis1498 I'm 220 lbs and compete at less then 6 percent bf and do recreational powerlifting, if I were to train ALL my lifts for strength I would be stronger then I am now, thats a fact.

  • @dlewis1498 - The thing is that Coleman actually did alot of powerlifting type training. Coleman did plenty of heavy squats, heavy deadlifts and heavy bench press along with his bodybuilding type exercises. Jay Cutler for example (who trains almost exclusively bodybuilding exercises and routines) struggles to deadlift 400 pounds. Now obviously bodybuilding does build strength, but not as efficiently as powerlifting.

  • @MrSmudger687 Where did you hear that Jay Cutler struggles to deadlift 400 pounds? I'm not saying you're wrong. I don't know how much he deadlifts. But I've heard he avoids heavy deadlift so as to keep from injuring himself. So if you think that because he ends his sets on 400 (or 405 probably), I doubt it's because he struggles with it. He just wants to stick to weights that are not that strenuous for that exercise. Again, I don't know. Just guessing.

  • actually i am serious about training. what i meant was all forms of training are meant to alter your body in some way, i.e. building upon your body. but i understand there is a specific style known as bodybuilding that deals with hypertrophy. i am a fan of it and i mostly train that way. I know the difference. I was making a statement about the term "body building". and you probably shouldn't lift with your back so much the next time you deadlift.

  • thanks for tip...however I never take advice from someone into Bodybuilding.. and does not lift heavy like i do. Deadlifts on my video are performed competition style, you stick to your bodyuilding.

  • I've never heard anyone deny there is such a thing as "muscle tone". It basically means tension in the muscle at rest. Higher tone thus means you look mildly flexed at rest. Even pavel tsatsouline aknowledges this, although he says high rep shit is useless for "toning", if anything posing routines (flexing really hard) increases muscle tone a lot more.
