hey your the first person i subscribe to. anyways, i was wondering how your brushes turned out after washing them with baby shampoo. i used the bare mineral shampoo and my mac brushes are still really soft after it dries. then one day i used vive shampoo and my 188 brush felt all nasty and stiff.

some people find this retarded but this is a very good way to clean brushes without damaging the shape or making it shed.. i do this too and its really fast n easy.. here she is just showing u guys thats why it takes longer.. hope u come back kate.. miss u gurl

omg, how time consuming. I soak mine in diluted mac cleaner. Then I wipe them on my paper towel. I have cleaned my brushes for you years by soaking. They maintain the shape.

after spending something like $40-something per brush, i don't think i'd like to put their 'quality' to the test by being 'rough' with them. i don't know about you, but i think being gentle is the safer and wiser option - to ensure a prolonged lifespan of each brush.

I have tried Smashbox, Ulta, and Mac brush cleaner. The Mac Cleaner seems to condition the brush as well as decrease drying time. I also paint and the Mac cleaner is better on my paint brushes than the expensive art brush cleaners. Hope this helps. ;)

Yes, I might try his technique also. =] Unfortunately, I don't know of other brush cleaners to recommend that are cheaper! I have never tried anything else.

there's this brand called INGLOT (they're like the european version of MAC, i got their stippling brush on my website u might wanna check it out, almost the same as 187), here in aust deyr brush cleansers are $14 while MAC is $20. but i don't think INGLOT is available yet in the U.S. and yeah you should definitely try enkoremakeup's homemade brush cleanser, IT'S WOW!!!

Hey Kat! I was wondering about the MAC Brush Cleanser. Do you have to rinse off your brushes after you clean them with the brush cleanser on a paper towel? It says to wash them after you clean them with the cleanser but I don't see that much people do that.

You don't have to rinse them afterwards. Just clean it with the brush cleanser on a paper towel, and once all of the eyeshadow is off, you're done. =]

I love this video thanks a ton you are amazing!  Question- If you store the brushes facing up does that cause the eyeliner or whatever you used on the brush to drip down and ruin the glue? Or is it not a problem?

never store your brushes facing up when they are wet, since the water or brush cleaner can run down the ferrule and ruin them. as long as they are dry, it'll be fine. :)
