i wish that marxist jungle bunny in the white house who can only say you you know you know who has not had a press conference in ages were dropped from a B52
Gee, if ANY other nation makes a film about one of it's mass-killing-weapons in such a naive and enthusiastic way....... I wonder, what people would think of them.
@anhquansei you miserable red punk... your father and mommy were quaking in their manholes as these brave pilots bombed Hanoi, only ten were lost over NVN... hmmm Who signed a treaty a few weeks later when swore they never would? If Nixon hadn't gotten in to trouble over Wateregate the B-52's would have returned when your lying leaders violated the peace treaty.... Oh, I got some food at the restaurant your uncle runs here in Virginia
@irish89055 That's a really good idea: lets list the things invented by the different countries and then, let's stop using those, from foreign countries ^^
AND let's always forget, that of course others were about to invent those things as well (but there is always ONE who is first)...
Anyway, we all know: us are best of all, in any ways, at all times! us citizens are best! us stands for good people, for humanity, it it... Man, I am lacking appropriate words to praise that nation! ^^
@anhquansei we lost the battle of viet nam but WON the Cold War- now we rule the world. Not in small part because of the fear this aircraft provokes. If our pussy president would use them, we would own the middle east in a week
@Sooksawaspakdee961 who do you think won the cold war dip shit? the USSR? oh look, they don't exist any more. go plow your rice paddy with a ox, you ignorant savage
@niselat . true great army air force navy, but what why do american parents allow their children onto computers unsupervised to spout such drivel, please study hard at school my friend, you really don't want to be flipping burgers all you're life.
*the co-pilots seat I sat < Sorry, I'm a stickler for details and reciting this memory still elicits the excitement that it did 43 years ago, thus, the typo...Lol. Wow. Furthermore, I find it ironic that the same aircraft have been flown by grandfather, father and grandson. That in itself stands as a testament as to what a great airplane this was and is. Okay, I'll hush. Thanks all.....And God Bless America!!
My father is 80 now. Viet Nam was his war. 1 morning, he woke me up @ 0400 hrs. Into his 66 Shelby Mustang we climbed and raced to Travis AFB we did. Father, a Colonel, USAF (Ret.) drove our Shelby right on to the runway where a BUFF sat - all 8 turning. Into the behemoth I climbed and the co-pilots seat I climbed. I'll never forget the multitude of analog dials, smell of kerosene and leather.....What a memory. Thanks Dad, we might not always have got along but you were and still are my hero...
@tollyt100 in all honesty we did never lost a single battle in Vietnam in fact there was a 1:10 K/D of American deaths to NVA deaths. The main reason for us pulling out was the utter loss of positive public opinion stateside that disallowed us to stay in there with good conscience
@Dreez76 would you mind explaining to the forum how Vietnam got America richer? If anything I'd say it only got is more in debt.
@tollyt100 in all honesty we did never lost a single battle in Vietnam in fact there was a 1:10 K/D of American deaths to NVA deaths. The main reason for us pulling out was the utter loss of positive public opinion stateside that disallowed us to stay in there with good conscience
If you look at all the facts, the only real reason why US went into Vietnam, was money. Americans were led to believe it was for "freedom", just like in Iraq now. But its not, its wealthy men sending other people's son's and daughters to die so they can get richer. Go back to WW2 and look at where exactly the german Warmachine got all their fuel... AMERICA. Money money money. Americans economy is based on Warfare, sad but true.
@Dreez76 the U.S. economy is far from based on war, for one: military expenditure is less than 4% of the U.S. economy. Secondly, the U.S. does not go to war to gain territory, the 1st Persian Gulf war might have partially been about energy (oil), but that is more about economic stabilization. Vietnam was a huge hit to America's economy actually, and that was only to prevent a communist regime from taking over an unwilling Gov't/general population, the U.S. had nothing to gain economically.
@jiminy82 Wow, finally someone telling all these blind dumb fools how it is. I hate how they talk so much bull. I really love seeing someone telling them what's what. Seriously, great job bro.
@Dreez76 Alright bro, explain exact how the war in Vietnam made America richer. Were they looking to steal the Vietnamese rice and sell it for profit? I mean seriously, show me any proof, or even theory of how Vietnam made America any money at all.
@dodge69874: show me any proof, or even theory of how Vietnam made America any money at all.
JM: You are too limited. You can't comprehend. You are only capable of two-dimensional thinking. The war in Vietnam didn't make America richer, it made the military industrial complex richer. The oldest motive in the world....MONEY ! The military industrial conmplex are TRAITORS to America.
I LOVE every support person that has supported our B-52 forces. I love every crewman, pilot, and navigator. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Total respect to all airmen that served in Ton Son Nhut. Thank you, thank you.
I served with the 92d Bombardment Wing at Fairchild AFB in Spokane Washington. Part of the 92d Security Police Squadron I walked around B-52's on a daily basis. Still an awesome aircraft, still looks modern.
@gandhicakes: The B-52 has been in service so long as more of an accident than preemptive design principles. However, there are a number of US aircraft designs which also push the longevity envelope. The A-4 is a front line aircraft with the Brazilian Navy (1962, 1 year later than the 52H) and the F-15 won't be completely phased out of USAF until at least 2025 (50 years of service). The Tu-95 has been in service almost as long.
Its more about design maturation than preemptive design.
What I want to know is if we made the BUFF so modular and upgradeable, why the hell didn't we do that to all our designs? Possibly 80-90 years of service? That's ridiculous, the original pilots grand children could fly the same airframe.
thanks man- i like the B-52 also, its been around like forever, and is the most versatile bomber in history and it will be around for another 30 years to come, thats the longest aircraft in service ever,i doubt if that record will be beaten anytime soon.i have also upload part 2 of this vid..
@f39eagle2 Indeed, no bomber, fighter or even a commercial liner achieved this. Maybe, after installing more economic RR or GE turbofans, the BUFF's lifespan can be stretched a decade longer. The airframe has proven it's strength. Great upload BTW.
@Brera011 You gotta keep perspective. Airliners are utilized 10 ...11 hours a day. EVERY day. B-52 does a fraction of that. I was assigned to buffs when I was in....and I came to love them. But the reality is that airliners are made to be more reliable anthe B-52. And they prove it every day....several times a day. Probably the greatest aircraft ever made so far has been the Boeing 747.
