  • i want to eat the bunny

  • you are great <3

  • Does the background get white when dry or does it have a translucent look?

    Thanks

  • @jmugrad1 The icing will be a little translucent unless you add white food coloring to it. I often add a drop or two of the white food coloring to all my colors to make them opaque, especially when painting one color over another. It helps each color stand out and not blend in with the others. But remember to let each color dry very well before adding another color, or they will run into each other after awhile.

  • If anyone is interested in the recipe for the cookies and icing I found the entry on her blog.....Kids, Cakes, Dishes, and Laundry... in that order (but knitting trumps all)

  • im in the mood for cookies now. they look so nice

  • I see people ask the same questions a million times, what is the icing being used. you should probably put it in the description box on all the videos in this series...so you dont have the answer the same question over and over. You really did a fantastic job on these.

  • Such cute cookies! Thanks for putting up these videos, I've just started baking and I never really knew how people got the icing on their cookies so smoothly. These videos have been really helpful, thanks again for uploading them. :3

  • sorry where can i fand the cookie recipe?

  • I work so cute thanks for sharing

  • I watched all your videos and this helps since I'm new to this. Do these rules apply to premade icing like the Bettry Crocker tubes in the supermarket?

  • Thank you so much for sharing your decorating tips. Currently, I'm using royal icing. Is this what you are using?

  • No, I don't use royal icing. I find it too hard, and it doesn't taste very good. The recipe is in the comments section of one of the 4 videos...#2 I think.

  • I couldn't find the recipes for the icing or the cookieis in any of the four parts, please repost, would love to try this for my Daughters 5th birthday. Thank you.

  • I couldn't find your recipes on any of the 4 videos could you please post it, i am trying to make it for my daughters 5th birthday, thank you.

  • ur kids sound so nice (in the background)!!! lol

  • i just watched all 4 and I can't wait to try it. Thank you. How do you package them to send off?

  • I just sent some to a friend as a trial. I stacked them in a tin with wax-paper underneath and on top to cushion them. Then I wrapped the tin in thin foam, put it in a cardboard box and stuffed packing paper under and all around it to insulate it. I believe it arrived with the cookies intact.

  • I didn't know the toothpick trick! Thanks for sharing!

  • what recipe do you use for your cookies?

  • Your cookies are very nice looking. YOu have been doing them for awhile it looks like. Thanks for all your great tips.

  • I watched your videos carefully and then tried making my own cookies (using your recipe). They turned out very well! They didn't looks as beautiful as yours, but they were still the best cookies I've ever made. For making black icing do you just add black icing colouring to the icing or do you use chocolate icing? I've heard that adding lots of icing colouring can cause your icing to taste bitter, so I was just wondering what a professional cookie maker chooses to use.

  • I just use black food coloring. If you buy the no-taste gel, it doesn't take much to color this particular icing, and I've never had trouble with the flavor.

  • thats soo nice who got to eat it at the end

  • your cookie looks yum!can you giveme the recipe for it? also we don't have corn syrup in the uk, whats the alternative?

  • Corn syrup is as also known as golden syrup- esp. in the UK. It should be in the baking aisle of your grocery store.

  • Wow, I'm so glad you knew that, because I had no clue!

  • You can find the recipe as well as some cookie baking tips and tricks on my blog. I can't enter a url address in these comments, but if you Google "kids and cakes" it will bring up my blog "Kids, Cakes, Dishes and Laundry...in that order" From there, you can check out my archives and find the post titled "The Cookie Exchange is Finally Here". Hope that helps!

  • I made a giant daisy cookie today using your instructions and your icing recipe. It turned out very well. Thank you very much.

  • Yea! I wish I could see a picture!

  • Oops, I didn't take a pic, and the recipient and her family already ate it all up. She is a 16-year-old and was thrilled. She is just recovering from a serious auto accident. Thanks again. Please teach us more. This was the perfect way to learn.

  • You make it look so easy! You mention "this icing" several times and mention it contains Karo syrup. What is "this icing"?

  • The icing is:

1 - 2 lb. bag of powdered sugar.

    1 tsp. salt.

    2-4 tbsp. milk

    6-8 tbsp. water

    2 tsp. vanilla

2 tbsp. Karo or Light Corn Syrup

As for the amounts of milk and water...I like the flavor the milk adds, but the icing will take longer to set up and harden. So, I usually use the lower amount of milk and the higher amount of water if I need them to dry quickly.
