For your XP problem, all you have to do is download a crack for it. Just google it, you'll find a torrent, and it should come with instructions.

I don't know of anything completely horrible happening to people who use pirated XP copies. But to expand on what a couple other people said, you will not be able to download any updates/service packs (except for maybe the critical security updates). So this means no directx or dotnet framework updates, which might suck.

If you used xp home upgrade, I do have a valid key that i'm not using anymore so I can send that to you. However, I doubt you went through the trouble of pirating the upgr ver.

i got my PC in 2006, had the same one, came with XP, so i have no idea about that. vista does suck, i don't blame you for stealing XP, but i'd make sure you have a back up drive or something. most PCs now have a backup partition anyway that fixes itself if C gets wiped.

yeah, but NSMB wii is still awesome. the DS one was annoying to get all the star coins in, i think i still even years after i got it, have 2 left to get. i think this one's easier because you need them for world 9.

I totally agree with what sakurate said, however i think it's called WGA (windows genuine advantage). And if windows update ever asks you again to install that stuff, first agree, but then just disagree on the terms of use. That'll hopefully keep it away.

Regarding the software scam thing, here's what I did to remove it: First figure out where the files for the program are located, someone mentioned WGS but you could use the task manager to find out. Then you need to delete all the associated files (you can't delete the program from the start since it's running as you boot up, and restats when you kill it through task manager). Then reboot and delete the program. After doing all this, make sure to deactivate automatic updates.

If you're using the product key that starts MR49R then just re install and you'll be fine, I used that for 6+ months before i got more ram and a new cpu to run vista better.

WGS all it will do is bitch at you that your not actavated so you can just ignore it. You won't get updates though. So depending on what your view point on windows updates is, it can be a plus or a minus.

I know what you are talking about. It isn't really much, and the closest thing to an annoyance is when the pop-up thing glitches out and you can't close it.

It's a minor inconvenience that takes getting used to. Aside from the background and pop-ups, and a window that appears when you start up the computer that you have to wait to close, nothing happens. Nothing to worry about unless you have the best BG ever.
