hes a few months old. give it time, and the right tactics and he will be calm.

handle him dailey, multiple times daily. dont be afriad to pick him up and grab him, if he tries to squirm hold him tight enough to restrain him and ittl show him your dominant and soon will be holdable and will get used to you handling him/her

i let him sit on my lap and have my hand on him, i took my hand of him for like 5 minutes to let him feel free, he was fine just sitting their, then out of the blue...he dashes across my house in litteraly 3 seconds lol

@CemetaryGatesML If hes rough 1.5 hes a baby, at full length he can reach 2.5-3 feet. when hes adult and calm he wont be dashing across your room. What worked for me was taking him out of the cage, hold my hand over his body gently when hes on my lap or in my other hand. lol mines still nippy tho if i scratch him in the wrong spot he opens his mouth as wide as possible. amazing creatures to own. what r u feedin him

i feed him everything. the usual are scrambled egg whites, fruit, ground turkey, beef, and chicken. and other random things...i shop for him a a store called "natural choice" the sell food for people who dont want prasevatives and etc... most of the stuff is made their ALL natural.

so il ocationaly give him things like fruit jam, apple sause, mash potatos and other stuff, lol... he goes nuts for raspberrys :)

my columbian tegu is just over a year and i tell you he is soo nasty i cant touch him its like show nd tell he only comes out too eat nd thats it and its been like this since i got him as a baby i read up nd i see that the columbian r very aggresive i wish tha wasnt tha case there so cool nd i wish i could handle him with out him trying to take off my finger at least my savannah is alot nicer nd i can do what ever with him

feed em with tweeeeezers outside there tank better yet in a tub with out tweezerssss and ... the hole bath deal let him swim up to you for protection and stuff.......... and make sure to spend tonssss of time with him =] try not to do food and you together ;p and also let him crawl on ya freely as he wants and do one hand infront of the other dont grip him

@MrMirracorider1 Handel lots, try puting a shirt you wore for an hour or so in his cage so he Connects your sent with safty, Dont feed him in the cage.

the extreme giants are the largest. b&ws are slightly smaller than these extremes. i think red is right under the black.

maybe maybe not every single tegu is differnet it may calm down it may be the same it may become mean and hate you it might become scared of you i mean theres no way to tell he wont be as fast cause hes bigger

not really, Colombians are much smaller than their Argetinan cousins. Tegus will grow between 3-6 ft roughly and colombians usually stick to the lower end of that spectrum, not to mention for tegus growth is like that of humans, no set rate, so its entirely possible. beautiful specimin by the way mi amigo.
