A great song full of memories for those of us around in the late 60s/early 70s. Stax, Atlantic, Motown, King, Brunswick, Chess and Ric-Tic in the lyrics from the LEGEND himself. Edwin Starr you were just sheer MAGIC!
Saw Edwin Starr (Charles Hatcher) twice, first time at Rotherham All-Nighter, made me go and get his CD straight away. The second time I saw him got him to sign the 7" '25 Miles' for me, a true showman, and a lover of England Northern Soul fans.
I remember him as agent double o soul performing at the appollo in N.Y.C,first time seeing or hearing of him, he left a lasting impression.... will miss him

is that Candy Dulfer on alto sax? I'm a big fan of hers as well as Edwin Starr.
If you like this you should check out Ivana Santilli in Canada as well.

Edwin sounds great here. I've had his Soul Master and 25 Miles (on Gordy) albums for 34 years - he is missed.
