A lot of ABBA's stuff was done using Polar's, then analogue equipment. Me being a purist prefers analogue. Me being techie has to live with digital, but it is no where near as good when it comes to recording. I bet is was bloody difficult trying to get the mixes which were done on new equipment to "sound" like the old ones. I'm a musician and if you look at an ABBA score it is very complex.
i cannot name one abba LP....they lasted a short period, none of them went on to anything worthwhile solo, majority of the songs were weak, the writing and lyrics and laughable, and dont give me this crap about composition bollocks

I was 8 when Waterloo was released, it was great then and it has stood the test of time well, like all Abba's stuff. I bet the band are raking it in from the film too. Apparently Bjorn and Benny spent ages getting the mixes as much like the original as possible for the film.

Mickey if I was to say Coldplay were better than Abba, thats like saying Baked Beans is better than Spaghetti, different strokes for different folks..I promise I am not anti abba, just not a fan, and a lot of the comments I make are very tongue in cheek! Like with Sugar Pumper above!

B&B actually Wrote the song to Svenne & Lotta. when it didn´t win, they found it to good to be just looked on as a rejected E.S.C. song. So ABBA recorded a cover of it..

A lot of ABBA's stuff was done using Polar's, then analogue equipment. Me being a purist prefers analogue. Me being techie has to live with digital, but it is no where near as good when it comes to recording. I bet is was bloody difficult trying to get the mixes which were done on new equipment to "sound" like the old ones. I'm a musician and if you look at an ABBA score it is very complex.

There was nothing clever about John Lennon, he was a good musician though. Take the lyrics of "Imagine", for example. There he was telling us all that material possessions did not matter, whils sittin in the middle of Tittenhurst Park, surrounded by his millions, hypocracy or what !!! - He weren't that clever.

As far as I know there is only one university that does a Beatles Degree, although what use it would be is quite frankly baffling.
I think you will find blokes have been singing about love since long before John Lennon came along.
Perhaps you are not old enough to remember though, foe example Elvis "Love Me Tender"
1956 pre-dating the Beatles by 7 years.
There was lots of music written about love,long before The Beatles ever came on the scene - promise !

I was 8 when Waterloo was released, it was great then and it has stood the test of time well, like all Abba's stuff. I bet the band are raking it in from the film too. Hard to believe that Agnetha is going to be 60 soon. I wonder if she still looks good. She tends to hide on her island in Stockholm and does not like publicity. Apparently Bjorn and Benny spent ages getting the mixes as much like the original as possible for the film.
