Very nice. You succinctly demonstrate that Space 1999 is no more locked into 1970s-style monster-of-the-week style than Star Trek was doomed to always be "Wagon Train in space". This has got a touch of Deep Space Nine to it. Thanks for conjuring that connection rather than a comparison to Voyager.
