yes, it's ok to get one, but the one will need a lot of attention, it's just better in general to get two or more. the ferrets will appreciate it, makes for more fun all around.

I used to have a ferret x polecat called Timmy. He loved running throughtubes and shoeboxes with holes cut in the sides. We also found that if we let him run around and scent in the garden it kept cats and rats etc away, which was good cos we had an aviary at the time too.

ya, its been 3 years ago that they started old age and now r in the tunnels in the sky. My fault in getting them relitivly at the same time. But, from my experance they are such a misunderstood pet. In my opinon they have the best qualities of a cat and dog. I had mine trained to roll over for raisens. And they play like kittens all their lives. Oh, and not one is the same in personality. HAVE TONS OF FUN!!!

I had a ferret about ten years ago that ran away :(. At the time, keeping a ferret was tougher since ferrets were still a relatively new type of domestic pet and there wasn't as much pet product support for them. Now that I see all the great stuff to come out for ferrets, like odor control and custom litterboxes with higher edged "crap corner", I'm dying to try my hand at owning two again. If only I didn't live in an apartment that restricted them :(. Great video!

Hi Aquahutch, thanks for the post. Ferrets are generally no problem at all living in an apartment, as long as you make it escape proof and give your ferrets plenty of play time with stimulating 'toys', bags, tubes etc. If you can't resist the urge to share your life with a couple of clowns then have a chat with a local rescue centre and see what they have to offer. Hi tazza033, the white one (Baby) is female, known as a jill. Unfortunately it is illegal to keep ferrets as pets in Queensland and the Northern Territory. This would be to protect your native species.

Hi Eccles55, ferrets love to 'rough and tumble' with each other and play biting is part of the game. Sometimes they forget that we aren't as tough as them and have a nip, this is generally only ever to initiate play with us. If Ferrets are handled often and gently they grow to respect their owner (who is really just a very large Ferret anyway!) :)

Hi Sibhe, ferrets make fantastic pets, just look at the joy they give us!! Check out some of the very many websites (UK and States) which are devoted to ferrets. If you decide you want to share your life with ferrets, think about having them from a rescue centre. There are so many waiting to be re-homed. Good luck and take care :)

Hi nlund. Thanx for your comment. Buddy and Baby make us laugh so much, they are a real tonic, impossible to feel down when they are around! We will try bubble wrap, thanx for the suggestion. Also thought about those polystyrene 'peanuts' used for packaging, not sure if there are any issues with chewing them tho'. Take care :)

hey rob0 I have spoken to you before on another of your vids. Your household sounds just like ours, we are constantly roaring with laughter at our ferrets too! I can tell you that our ferrets LOVE a box full of those polystyrene peanuts (with a coupl dof their balls thrown in). They have never tried eating it either. Give it a go!
