Look behind the heat shield of most snow blowers and what do you see .... no air cleaners. You'd be surprised at how much crap can go through a motor with no effect, naturally the longer you run with out one , the higher the odds of souring your motor.
bolens you sound silly, it was misty with snow on the ground and im sure my 17 year sexperience running and working on small engines i would know not to do a NO NO like that had there been dust in the air...
