I think he wrote Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground around 98. So it's not inpossible that he had wrote this pice to eary or he just made it up. Like in the video witch would have bin awesome.

@hejhejchriko he wrote most of songs early, and just let them evolve look up Jack White and the Bricks performance at the gold dollar here on youtube, the performance predates the white stripes, but includes songs that were on there later albums as well.
