The EU is not even a parliament. NONE of the members can propose legistation. All they can vote on is yes or no on what the comissioners give them. An UNELECTED bureaucracy which cant be voted in or out by us the people.

Building infrastructure (roads, etc) is fine but it is terribly economically inefficient to be engaging in what it is not yet even profitable for the private sector to do yet. I give an example: during Bush Adm. a big European company wanted to create a wind energy farm in the US, with a factory and everything. Huge investment that did not materialize because the high tension wire to carry the Electricity was very expensive and there was no public Investment to implement it Im talking about real economy, and not about virtual or speculative economy.
