  • This is EXACTLY what my two cats do every day. It starts with grooming and slowly escalates into grabbing, wrestling, biting and 'shredding'. Neither cat has ever been hurt. Am curious to know what this peculiar behaviour means

  • @miciajoey1 Me too. Kittens do it too, I guess that's just how cats play, by wrestling and play biting. For kittens it's a good way of learning to control their own bodies: to hold their claws in and bite gently when playing. Cats who haven't grown up with other kittens to play rough with tend to not be very good at mastering that and can accidentally hurt other cats or humans even when they only intend to play.
