So, what happens in the Desert Bus. Just driving? Just continuous driving and bus sounds.

You have to drive from Tuscan AZ, to Las Vegas, which is a something like a 8 hour drive, and to get a point you gotta go there and back, you can't pause or anything. and if you crash you get towed back to the start. The charity done by the crew at Loading Ready Run, is when one person is playing the game for 4 hours at all times, and people donate, and they have auctions. It's really fun to watch, no so much to play.

This game was in direct response to Janet Reno's complaint about games not only being very violent, but also being detached from reality.

well... the point of the game is to travel from Tuscon, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada at a max speed of 45mph in real time. So the trip there takes 8 hours real time. ONce you get there -CONGRATS- you get one point. THen you can travel back to Tuscon for another point and back and forth to get more points. Remember - 8hrs real time each way.

Does that sound boring to you?

Oh yeah and the scenery... it never changes...

Haha. I was running it on a SEGA CD emulator on my original Xbox with the capability to pause or "freeze" the game in place and I didn't even make it to the fly hitting the windshield. Hell, I even had TURBO mode available and I didn't endure. Then again at the time I was doing much with that xbox and it was hard to not use it since the game was paused.

I still have the roms and image files for it so maybe I'll upload a better video.

Actually I looked it up right after posting that-- you're right. The game was never released, but the Sega CD version was complete and they sent out review copies to several magazines. I guess GamePro was one of them, although they're not listed as one of them in the Wiki. But yeah, unreleased.

Most of it was stupid card forces and neat little cheats to ensure your friends would have to double take at what was going on.
