  • That's the way I'd want to meet my end - old, but still with a sharp mind.

  • RIP 110 years old what an amazing journey his been on.

  • RIP cousin Claude. You made your family very proud. Thanks for the memories.

  • Damnit, I hate to see heroes die, but then again they still live in...soldiers never die, his heroic deeds will live forever

  • Sir you are immortal.

  • Farewell Claude Choules

  • RIP Claude Choules. He died yesterday in his sleep overnight. :(

  • @Eradicationer It's just breaking on the news over here in the UK. Very sorry to hear this..... My respects to Claude and so many others like him, for what they went through for their countries.

    RIP Claude.....

  • R.I.P Claude Choules

  • My greatgrandfather, died in 2006, he was born on 1899, and was one of the 10 last german WWI survivors. He fought both

  • Since the passing of Frank Buckles (the last American ww1 veteran) this man is now the last surviving world war 1 veteran of any country. God bless him.

  • Choules might not make it to 2012 with that kind of condition since my 15th birthday.

  • He's now the last man standing after the death of Frank Buckles. There is Florence Green but like I said, last MAN standing.

  • same

    hes my great grandad to

    after all we are cousins!

  • This is my Great Grand Father :) and my Grand mother

  • Buckles, Choules, and Green all deserve massive respect for what they did for our side in the great war.

  • my full respect goes out to people like this, ill hope he may rest in peace when the time comes.

  • Very incredible ... the last person to have served in both World Wars.

  • I think he don't smoke or drink liquor when he was young so that's why he is still alive.

  • His daughter looked like 65...and he looked like 90....weird stuff how some people dont seem to age...

  • theres only 3 ww1 vets around,2 british and 1 american, one of the british ones is a women

  • What an amazing man! I am inspired to read his autobiography.

  • when i was in highschool i went to visit him with two other lads, he is quite a remarkable person

  • he is now the last surviving veteran who fought in BOTH World War I, and

World War II. His health is currently failing, he is almost totally blind and deaf, and is AWESOME.

  • he is in pretty good shape. inspirational.

  • That is the cutest old man I've ever seen.

  • A ture Vetern and hopfully he'll never be forgotten.

  • Turns out that there is another WWI vet living in England. Her name is Florence Green. She was born there on February 18, 1901.

  • Please tell me more about this person.

  • Check wikipedia, that's what I did!

  • @theytrebel

Florence green is a veteran but she was a waitress for the officers.

she did not participate in combat.

Claude Choules was the last veteran who fought in the Great War

  • @CrazyCoyote100 she doesnt count she was a waitress for the air force..

  • @dferhadi94 She was officially recognised as a war veteran in January 2010. I know you might disagree but that is the official view on the matter. I for one am not sure whether to consider her as a war veteran or not, but I have a great deal of respect for her doing her duty all the same.

  • @CrazyCoyote100 does she count? she was just a waitress

  • @CrazyCoyote100 She was not a combat veteran.

  • @CrazyCoyote100 she lives in king's lynn the same place i live would love to meet her someday.

  • @mysticfather Do it soon, flowers even.

  • He and Frank Buckles are the last of the last.. John Babcock is also listed but he was only in training

  • Thank you for this wonderful video. Claude is my cousin, & it is not likely I can get to Australia soon to meet him personally. Thanks for this blessing.

  • R.I.P harry patch and henry allingham-bless both of you, and I salute you Claude Choules:))
