Haha the Cradle of Filth influence on this album is pretty obvious.

That isn't a bad thing though. Cradle was awesome up through Midian. This seems to borrow most from that early era stuff anyways.

Whatever. This is a good album.

@brownmetalsoul Okay, look. Black metal didnt' start as minimalist on purpose. Notice that the 'forefathers' of black metal were poor norwegian shitheads with little money or access to equipment. Basically, it's norwegian grunge, which also takes no talent. In short, the reason it's minimalist is because either the bands that started it suck at music, or have no money. Now it's just a fad. I'm sure there's some black metal that takes talent, but doesn't show it. Burzum DOES suck though, big fail

You're still missing the point. Black metal is all about atmosphere, which requires writing talent. So get your head out of your ass and realize that not all great music takes technicality. Look at Black Flag's Damaged. There is practically zero technicality on that album, and it still kicks ass. This is true for most early hardcore punk. Oh and Black Metal did start out as minimalist. Most of the early bands were death metal/thrash fans who became disillusioned with the scene.

@brownmetalsoul it actually takes little talent to create what you're calling 'atmosphere' you're thinking that just because a band sounds 'evil' they have good atmosphere, that's actually really repetitive, like the rest of metal, which is pretty shitty in general. I'm growing out of it to be honest. But it stands, black metal is the worst. Minimalist or not, the black metal bands that all you black metal shits like are the ones with the least talent, you have it wrong. You hate the good ones..
