What a beautiful talent! He can play complicated chord progressions on the guitar and sing at the same time and make it all look effortless! Love the man!! He is sorely missed.
wow, what a memory. it was april 30, 1976 at the olympia arena in detroit. the first and only time i would see my musical idol. still one of the best shows i've seen. the crowd was electrifying. just 4 teenagers on a bus trip from Lambeth, Ontario. what a night!!!!!
I've always found this song to be most invigorating. I could be down in the dumps, or feeling rather "motivationaly challenged", and this song would re-energize me. Had the origional "Windsong" LP, but that was from many moons ago....... washed away in a flood. Thanks for posting it on "YouTube.
We miss you, John, but your music still lives, and your gifts still give.
I love this video. Thanks for posting. I somehow missed seeing it before but it's really one of the very good ones on youtube from John Denver. Thanks
"I like singing those kinda songs! Whoo! Gets your blood pounding. I feel sometimes when I finish a song like that my, my vocal chord is going to fall out and land quivering on the stage. Isssh!"
Thanks so much for posting. I never got to see John Denver in person (he passed on just after I turned 14), so I put on the Wildlife concert DVD and look up live performances on youtube, play them really loud and imagine what it must have been like.
This has to be my favorite John Denver song. I wish I could sing it half as well.

The best is at the very end, when he speaks to the audience! I lol'd!

he said it so fast, I couldn't quite catch what he said... I caught "my voice's gonna fall off" but that was it. :(

Thanks for posting! Where/when is this from? I'm going to guess mid/late 1970s, judging by the glasses and the bell bottoms - gotta love it!
I love this song!

It's recorded in 1976, at the "Talk of the town" in London.
I recorded it from satellite in the late 80's.
