@Kollynator The pre-war Thompsons (1928 and 1928A1) had a ROF between 700 - 900 rpm. They slowed them down with the Model M1 and M1A1 Thompsons to 500 - 550 rpm for better controlability in combat.

@kiwitedferny She's all girl though even with the Tommy gun. This is one of three that I built from parts kits last year, the other two I sold but I will keep this one for awhile longer. One thing that really disappoints people when they shoot a Thompson is there is absolutely no recoil what-so-ever. None. Kinda takes the wind out of your sails if you grew up watching the TV show "Combat!" like I did as a kid.

@C2builder Yes, it's a heavy sucker. Guess that blots up the recoil. Big 'slash' at the target end though. This gun must have absolutely flayed the small Japanese.I have met 2 guys (WW2 vets) who got 'kills' with this gun. Both used single shot only. I was going to talk about it when I get around to re shooting my Thompson vid. Nice weather you got there!

The title is a spin off of a TV slogan that plays here in the USA, basically taking a stab at people who travel through Texas and either tear stuff up or litter on our highways throwing trash from thier cars. My daughter Nichole was adding a twist to that slogan by saying not to be bad to Texas girls as well.
