Yeah, I'm personally getting sick and tired of these cookie cutter action figures that have no detail put into them whatsoever...Silver eyes and a silver spider was definately a bad idea. XD

Yes - acrylics are far better but I don't have any small bottles that is why I used what I had on hand. Be sure to prepare the surface with a primer or base coat of white/grey or black. Use a light coloured base coat for bright/light top coats. If you use black for base coat then paint over with say yellow, it will look very dull and you will see the black come through the yellow. Hope that helps.

I used citadel miniatures paints.. but go into any hobby shop.. acrylics are the best. Ask the guys in there.. Humbrol, Tamiya, Revell.. these are all reputable brands. Have FUN!! lol
well i like both cause the figure that im getting features the classic white spider in the front and in the back. so to me it looks alot like the comics version. Plus the movie version had a little resemblance to the first appearance venom in the comics cause back then he started out as not so bulky. but overall yeah I love the comics version better. i just like the detail that they did on the unleashed.
I really liked the movie aspect of Venom. One question, how do you think about using the unleashed venom head on this figure, will it look more movie style and get a better face sculpt?
Because the webs are raised, and not exactly like the comic design where Venom had NO webs, I had to make a compromise that would suit the figure. Cheers for the comment.
Fair call - I just thought it deserved a decent paint job. I believe too many shortcuts were taken and it did a good mold an injustice, in my opinion. If you are inclined, you should do a basic custom paint job on a spare figure you have. It really fun. Cheers

There is one Venom figure I really like but still have to buy and that is the one from the Secret Origins line. I've only seen pictures but I think that's the only one out there that resembles the Venom from the comics best. I do have a Venom figure from the 90s cartoon line, it has a rubber head you can remove that reveals Eddie and it's still pretty cool actually!
Righty i got ya. Unfortunately that's one of the flaws in the mold - it has raised webs. Although I could go over it in black. I would probably rather just paint over the raised webs instead of painting the entire figure - although it might take longer, it would use way less paint and would be a lot more unnoticeable, which in my opinion is better. As it stands, im not painting the figure further! Try it yourself if you feel confident and tell me how it goes.
