@stupidshinigami Yep that's right, because Bruce lee hurt his back a great posterior chain exercise is completely revoked as safe and effective. You guys sound like people who don't know how to do a good morning or how to train properly.
@jamstrings100 There's no doubt you'll build a big strong back doing that, but come on, you are more than likely going to snap some shit up along the way!
@carven2004eca He did but it was due to an imroper warm up. Also Bruce lee was pushing his body to the limit He trainned 6 hours a day man, martial arts, weight training, cardio. The body can handle so much until something goes wrong.
I alternate between wide and narrow stance. If I do them for my hamstrings I use a narrow stance and only a slight bend in my legs. I'll have to try the good morning squats.
I love good mornings and regardless of how strong you are, 135 is the best weight in my opinion, just up the reps... And I have never seen a squat incorporated into that, I'm a huge fan
its like saying deep squats are bad for your thighs. in the short term it might hurt but in the long run the strength and muscle produced stabilises the back and makes it stronger.
The difference is that a good morning strengthens the lower back specifically which in turn helps when doing squats. It is vital that you have stability and strength in your lower back to perform decent squats.
All about form and technique. It is amazing how many people and trainers never use a good morning, preferring to use deadlifts.

i'd rather do goodmornings, and then a low-bar stance squat. i wouldnt trust doing a GM to squat BS with heavier weight than what you are using

wow never seen anyone squat morning. it kinda looks like an accidental movement haha. nice GM form though.

That looks like a very dangerous technique. I read that Bruce Lee messed up his back while doing this exercise.

I was refering to the good morning + the squat.
Cramnella 2 years ago
good mornings are the best exercise to become better in squats.
deadlifts are good, too. but not the same.
it's difficult to explain why there is an important different. the best is to do these exercises and you will see the difference.

wouldn't it be better to do reverse hyperextensions? or do hyperextensions on a hyperexxtension bench holding a plate?
