Islamic and Christian fundamentalist have more in common with each other, than they do the rest of us. In both cases, they attempt to tell us how we should live our lives. Both have an agenda of world domination and in extreme cases, both use bombs to kill innocent people to make their points. In the name of God/Allah - Neither should be entrusted with political power. Their agenda's corrupt their their decisions.

Sharia law is disgusting, but burning Qu'rans doesn't solve a damn thing. Pissing Muslims off isn't what we need to do here. We need to show them that they're no better. If you're going to burn a Qu'ran, burn a bible and a science textbook while you're at it. The important part is making them know that they have no special rights.
@brunodemoura - How courageous of you to make your point by risking the lives of Ameican service men and women. - Furthermore, some of the kindest, most thoughtful people I know as Muslims. Islam is not the enemy. Instead, it is a tiny minority of fundamentalists. We do ourselves no favors by attacking the religion of a billion people. The vast majority of which are peaceful. - Btw, do you define Christianity by the acts of its most radical members?
Nothing wrong to argue in favor of Islam, the problem is the argument he made not to criticize an ideology or a religion. Fear is not a good reason to not say what you believe. By actin on fear, we are giving away our freedom without realizing.
@brunodemoura - "Fear is not a good reason to not say what you believe" - That's a valid point. However, I prefer to make my points when I'm the one who has to pay for it, not others. - Furthermore, to paint the religion of a billion people on the basis of a very small minority is short sighted and irresponsible. Again, do you define Christianity by the acts of its most radical members? If not, then why not apply the same logic to other religions?
@im4wur2 "Prefer to make my points when I'm the one who has to pay for it, not others." I think the army supposed to defend our liberty. And by the way, what the American troops are doing there in the first place? Surveys shows that a considerable part (not the majority) of Muslims tolerate or sympathize with extremists, even among American Muslims.
@brunodemoura - With regard to: "I think the army supposed to defend our liberty." - Here's what a group of US veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan have to say on the subject: "“As veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, we have watched with increasing alarm the rise of anti-Islamic rhetoric within the U.S..."
(cont) "“We’ve seen attacks on Muslim citizens, intolerance toward religious expression, and even threats of book burning. All this goes against the values we risked our lives to protect..."
(cont) "“We have served beside Muslim soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen, as well Muslim translators, who risked their own lives and the lives of their families to help us. For the servicemembers currently deployed, the success of their mission and the safety of their lives depends on a basic respect for, and interaction with, Islamic culture..."
(cont) "Those who would vilify and target Muslims on grounds of their religious belief not only show a deep disrespect for American values, but put American lives at risk. It’s easy to burn a Koran when you won’t feel the heat..." - (for source, google: u-s-veterans-on-repect-for-muslims-america-you-gotta-have-our-backs/ )
@brunodemoura - Therre's a hole in your logic big enough to drive a truck through. I've been waiting for you to close it, but after two weeks it's apparent you have no intention of doing so. - You challenged Muslims to denounce their lunatic fringe and I challenged you to denounce the Christian lunatic fringe. A challenge to which you failed to respond.
@brunodemoura - As such, you may want to consider that the reason more Muslims don't speak out about the attrocities done in the name of Islam, may not be that different from the reason you failed (repeatedly) to denounce attrocities done in the name of Christ.
@im4wur2 We have to discuss this without fear or political correctness. Muslims have to say out loud what they stands for. I don't see Muslims criticizing the concept of jihad or sharia law, for example.

@C0ct0pusPrime It may actually be true--minorities tend to do worse academically than white people
HUGELY IMPORTANT NOTE: This is NOT due to their race, though. Instead, it is because of the socio-economic status forced onto them early on in the country's infancy, of which they're still fighting to get out of. This results in inferior education and opportunities for growth.
When given EQUAL opportunities to learn and grow, though, all races have essentially identical academic results.
@DyslexicChaos It's the old baseball analogy. If we were all playing the game the poor would already have two strikes and two outs and the rich start every at bat by just going to third.
@DyslexicChaos The use of race is foolish and archaic term. Race is not a scientifically valid biological category. Yet it remains important as a socially constructed category which helps bigots categorize people as different.
Your entire debate while noble in intent is as bigoted as the people you are commenting on.
@whiteliberal1 no, i said "THE" culture. The culture that promotes drug dealing and drug use, and bad attitudes, and no respect for authority. the culture that laughs and scoffs at college and assimilation into mainstream society. The culture that views good grades and intelligence and proper speech as "selling out" or somehow being traitorous to the race. The entire eubonics hip hop culture. its poison. you want proof? look at your typical inner city.
@louiscaponecchia It's funny how you lump an entire race of people into having bad attitudes, no respect for authority and drug use. The last time I checked, a Meth addict had a bad attitude for authorities! It was so bad, he decided to blow up a federal building in Oklahoma City while killing innocent children!
As for "eubonics" (sic) EBONICS and typical inner city neighborhoods, have you visited any areas in Atlanta (Ellenwood, Niskey Lake, etc.) Again, you're lumping them all into one.
The only reason Santorum is doing well is not because he is a good leader, but because he is running on a religious platform and Christians would rather vote for a dumbass christian than a mormon, adulterer, or a libertarian.

@DyslexicChaos The use of race is foolish and archaic term. Race is not a scientifically valid biological category. Yet it remains important as a socially constructed category which helps bigots categorize people as different.
Your entire debate while noble in intent is as bigoted as the people you are commenting on.

@DyslexicChaos yes, but minorities need to drop the culture, especially the black community, because it holds them back.

@louiscaponecchia You said, "minorities need to drop their culture, especially the black community"? What?!
