You are saying 5 Eurofighters can take down an Air Force (Iranian). EF is a small plane with very limited payload. Moreover it's small size and 2 engines means is can't stay in air for very long. Ef is also 3rd in cost to performance ratio after F-22 and Gripen. Even after this high cost EF is still a 4.5 gen plane with no stealth. This means even a Mig 21 BISON can lock and shoot EF with it's longer range radar and missiles.

Recently made their own aircraft of three different version around 500=1640. They also made copys of all USA jet (except F16 and F15) around 600. Total=2240

we develop Talarion drone (comparable to Global Hawk) with SAR and other sensors (we get 6 of) with France and Spain
we developped with Spain and flied twice Barracuda stealthy drone (experimental for Tornado replacement, recon, weapons carrier, radar)

Military budgets is no way of assuming the strength of an army! Over 85-90% of the budget in developed countries goes behind paying salaries!. An indian soldier gets paid 20 times less as compared to his counterpart in the western world. You see where the discrepancies are occurring ?
Further more if you have server in the airforce then you would realize the sheer volumes can over run you let alone the fact that Indian planes have fought with the US airforce one on one and done well.

You are saying 5 Eurofighters can take down an Air Force (Iranian). EF is a small plane with very limited payload. Moreover it's small size and 2 engines means is can't stay in air for very long. Ef is also 3rd in cost to performance ratio after F-22 and Gripen. Even after this high cost EF is still a 4.5 gen plane with no stealth. This means even a Mig 21 BISON can lock and shoot EF with it's longer range radar and missiles.

Russian Air Force has 2,819 aircraft in service with 190,000 personnel (not to mention very small numbers of the good planes). The US Navy has over 3,700 aircraft. US Air Force has 5,573 aircraft of which 2,300 are fighters and over 450,000 personnel. Add that all those planes are top quality and US has the only stealth planes.

saudia arabai bought 672 F16 during the gulf war it already had around 500 advance russian aricraft. At the moment it has around 1500 advance aircraft. Iran had 600 advance russian aircraft but in the Iraq war Iraq send over 340 advance russian aircraft to Iran= 940the next 8 years Iran bought 200 advance russian aircraft=1140. Recently made their own aircraft of three different version around 500=1640. They also made copys of all USA jet (except F16 and F15) around 600. Total=2240

Even if we complete the highway, Pakistan is in the way. Iran wants a pipeline, Afghanistan wants a highway, Northern frontier wanted to be a part of India but the Pakis are always there to suffer and make others suffer.

I would go with IPL, not sure if they can put up the same show that they put up last year .... but lets see what happens. Personally however I am of the mind they should have restricted themselves to hiring Indian cricketers only, that way we would have got to see more talented players coming up, considering that there is a lot of politics involved with the older players. And the people would have got to judge themselves, with clearer results in front of their eyes

acbw828 do you realize we have you surrounded? We have bases in Tajikistan, Iran very soon Afghanistan and we will be bombing you from the Arabian sea as well. Your troops will be spread all over the country ...you wouldn't even know where to retaliate. If you do bomb us back, you would be going to war with Tajikistan, Russia, China, Kirghistan, Kazakhstan.... cause they are all SCO members. You will be bombed back into the stone age

As Pakistanis,we are not denying whats going on in our country but we are saying that we are the ones who know how to deal with it best. They are, after all our own people who are involved in such activity & since its in our own interest to shut down militancy from our strategic culture we are saying we should do it our way.

abcw828, I agree with your basic premise. This is ultimately a battle that the Pakistani Army must win. But the question I must ask you, is how will you do it "your way"?? What would the strategy be??
Remember that the Afghans as well must win this fight on their side of the border. This is very much their war as well.

Sign peace treaties with the aggrieved tribes & put in economic aid package to the Tribal Areas...develop a society where people do not feel the NEED to hold a gun in their hand...give them employment, jobs & education & you will work wonders
Problem is, USA does not want this because it is interested in the dismemberment of Pakistan

The US just wants to take your nuclear weapons away. Those nuclear weapons are a threat to international peace and stability. All your neighboring countries are really worried and feel threatened with you running around with those weapons. You must be disarmed. they should take those nukes away and give you fire crackers to play with. No one wants to invade Pakistan, you don't have oil or a rich economy, we just want those weapons.

Look buddy, we all want peace also but we are NOT surrendering those nukes. What if Hindu fanatical BJP takes power & threatens war on Pakistan? What if India invades Northern Areas & Azad Kashmir? What if India sneakily acts like a little girl & works to dismember Pakistan? We will give up nukes only when you give up yours, & shut down your army/RAW
