1 year prior to this, John was seriously comtemplating retiring from armwrestling. He was having a lot of pain in his arm. Then the Pulling John crew started making the movie on him and that made him get back into the sport. because he wasn't training much in 2003 here he is at his weakest 0 not taking anything away from Matt but I doubt he could beat a 230 lbs. healthy John. I'd like to see Girdner take on John as he was at the Nemiroff cup this year - healthy but 209 lbs. would be close IMHO.
