I just don't understand how you guys can run so confidently, everytime I run, the guard happens to be looking in my direction and I end up getting alert phase or he'll say "who's that" and walks over to see me. How close do you have to be for a guard looking away to hear your running and turn around?

@6hundredn66 Actually, us Europeans got European Extreme as an exclusive mode [NTSC releases never got it] for the original release of Snake Eater, as well as for MGS2 since we got the game far later than you guys did; hence why it has the name in the first place.

If you play European Extreme you can get a lot of practice at sneaking so you don't get spotted!

Well, the only difference is that on EE, once you get spotted, it's game over. On Extreme, alert phases are still possible.

yeah pretty much i hav snake eater and doin extreme alrdy alerted once getin to sokolov in begining. lukily i knocked out 2 guys and alert gone but i was tryin to get no alerts but u no wut.. oh well ill try agin next time but lifenane1 is sooooo right i got lucky
