I'm 32 and watched this since the 6th grade. When I graduated high school I stopped watching it.(not on purpose) To see this as the last episode is sad. I mean sad because it could had been better. How was there no rolling credits? Wow. I want talk about camera crew and how it had gotten sloppy since I watched it last.

These soaps have to stop using Warner-owned songs in their finales. Both GL and AW did, and since Warner won't allow any of its music on YouTube, these finales had their closing scenes muted.

ITA about it being rushed. Although I liked that they FINALLY got Blake and Frank together in the ep. it could've been done a lot sooner. I also hated they couldn't work out a deal for JVD to appear. I think he said he watched filming from nearby (so much for the mag lines that OLTL needed him to film that day!) also should've had a montage. Could've done without the Jeva business at the end. They rushed everything else they could've rushed that too!

Jeffery was one of my favorite characters... They never explained what happened to him. Also it just seemed a bit rushed. For a show that dragged minutes into day's I expected a more thought out ending. And for the love of God, who's wedding was Dina at?

Thanks for posting this. Like so many others on this site I started watching GL in it's glory days, early 1980's, loved it up until early 1990s and then have kept my distance for awhile hoping it would get better. Although it seems that many people didn't like the final episode, I believe the ending was appropriate and satisfying to see Reva and Josh framed by the iconic lighthouse.

This show might still be on if the writers hadn't started smoking crack in the mid -90's and run it into the ground. They completely destroyed what used to be a good show.

Absolutely worth every second watching this. I've been watching GL since 1978, back in the days of Holly and Roger. I remember the four Musketeers when it originally aired! Hard to believe this era is gone.

this is so wrong...this show has been on so long..to be replaced with a stupid game show! i recall fond memories in the 80's and 90's when this show was so so good! excellent writing ..rich charaCTERS..so sad....to say goodbye to a child hood/teenage memories..

I have been watching guiding light for 23 yrs now and I am only 33. watching the final episode makes me so sad, because I remember sharing special time with my grandmother who started me watching it as a kid. it made me feel close to her, and now that it's gone off I makes me feel like I have lost a connection with my grandmother who died 3yrs ago, I have never watched an episode with out thinking of her. (YAY FOR REVA AND JOSH)

I would rather they had ended this with a montage of clips from the past as a remembrance....and closed with a picture of Charita Bauer (Bert). It was nice and happy but for TVs longest running soap opera, the last quarter of the program should have been clips from the past as a tribute to those actors who contributed their talents..past and present...to a series that, disgracefully, was ruined and killed by those who thought they knew best but did not.

i just wanted to thank you for posting all of these, this was the only way i got to watch them and i so appreciate it. this was the on soap i watched now its over. but at least josh and reva road out into the sunset together, the way it should be. love josh and reva, kim got her wish she said she wanted to end it with robert and she did. thanks again, but a very sad day for us fans!

I am so glad Josh and Reva got back together. I will miss them and the rest of the cast for a long time. GL was without a doubt the best acting/ best looking cast on daytime TV. I have watched it for 30 years. Very very sad it's over.

Great show today!! Kim Zimmer & Robert Newman looked great. Will miss the whole cast. I'm glad that Reva & Josh ended up together. (Always). I grew up watching this soap opera with my late grandmother (RIP). I thank her for introducing me to this soap opera.

Even thought I never watched regularly, I was more than aware of Josh and Reva. And after 28 years of dragging it out - "deaths", clonings, secrets, spectacles and all - I was glad to see they've finally got their happy ending. Not just them, but all of the characters - Phillip, Beth, and everyone else. Despite a couple loose ends, all seems right in Springfield. And that's the way it will be for now until....whenever.

If most watched Jeffery's last scene you can probably assume edmond is still alive or that edmund was right and jeffery loved the danger more than Reva. Either way it was nicely done considering. and noe of us is ever going to be happy that it off the air but, boy it was a good ride while it lasted!!!!!!!!!!

I guess Jeffrey will forever be chasing Edmond. I'm so glad they had closure on most of the characters ...even ones long gone like Mindy and Fletcher but I really wish Harley would have made an appearance ... even Bridgette and Dillion showed up for the wedding ..come on! Beth Ehlers was on that show for YEARS! Oh, and I wish Roger would have been mentioned .... Michael Zaslow was one of the greats on this show.
