Athiests can admit the possibility of god existing,but they personally believe that there is none. Denying the possibility of god existing is very close minded, but so is denying the possibility he dosent exist.The guy was trying to get at that just because he was admitting there was a possiblity, dosent automatically make it true. For instance, if i said that i taught my cat to type this message out for me, its not automatically true just because the possibility of it exists.

Because in debate lack of arguments don't win. It is the person with the best plausible arguments that win. When they say that it shows they can't back up their atheism...and it's faith based. That is why some atheists on their deathbeds repent or confess or ask to see a priest or whatever. The prospect of death and eternity is too frightful. If you're an atheist and you're right it's whatever when you die because you don't exist. If you're wrong the worst case scenario is that you go to hell forever. On the flipside the worst case scenario for a christian or whatever, other than going to hell because you were wrong about how to worship or whatever, is ceasing to exist.
