  • 70 tons of bronze, 140,000 pounds... just think what just the metal would cost alone today now that copper and tin prices have shot through the roof to insanely high levels.

The bronze itself would easily cost over a million dollars alone today.

  • wow great

  • When was this made? They did complete the horse statue - there is one in Grand Rapids Michigan at the Frederick Meijer Gardens and one in Milan Italy,

  • it will be awesome if he finish it =D

  • According to their website, which you could just as easily looked up, the display of the horse is computer generated, not a statue, not solid...

  • You do realize that while a humongous penis may be enviable, a matching vagina is not. Sad for you and your tumor.

  • @ehcmier wtf?

  • if anyone's interesting there's an exhibition of his work in the Manchester science and industry museum .

  • word or world?

  • 1080 ppi... wow is the buffer slow for that.

  • Comment removed

  • he was too busy decoding codex pages for me.

  • YEEEE!

  • He was born with it!

  • A man above the human race.

  • He was way ahead of his time!

  • what programs will get rid of the commercials?

  • Get over yourselves.. You guys have never made a spelling mistake?? They are just human like the rest of us.

Anyways on to the topic ...

DaVinci was just incredible, shame he never had the chance to finish this.

  • Wow, that horse would've been a beaut. This man is beyond genius...

  • lol fucking dumbasses!!...word???WTF!!

  • have you ever cast metal? your the dumbass if not so.

  • People make mistakes, even the Discovery Channel.

  • The Discovery Channel can't spell "world"? LOL

  • too bad it serves no purpose

  • What stopped him?---a war he had nothing to do with.

    now that sucks.

  • Thats a big fuckn horse!

  • LOL, Word?.. Don;t you mean world?..:L:L

  • Seems simple

btw Da Vinci was a guido

  • 2 copies of this statue were made, one is on display at the Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, MI, the other is somewhere in Italy, I believe. I have pictures taken with my 6' tall son standing beside it, his head barely reaches the hocks, very impressive!

  • The words largest

Lol you dumbasses discover how to spell world.

  • DaVinci was a man born 500 years to early.

  • soo wierd i just read a bout him in class yesterday

  • In fact Leonardo was a Florentine, which was a city state. That same state, so influential to the Renaissance, no longer exists. So any claim of heritage is lost to history.

Leonardo was more than amazing. He was absolutely unique.

  • the biggest horse in the whole word...

  • he should have tried to make a giant statue of a field mouse

  • The French army of the time had a really annoying habit of shooting at landmarks :/

  • @kittenclaws= Because landmarks don't shoot back. If they did, they would have surrendered.

  • Is the horse statue in the dictionary with the rest of the words?

  • @golguin haha

  • "Word's Largest Horse Statue"

    Discovery Title Fail!

  • Read the video title.

  • Awesome! I have read preaty munch about Leonardo DaVinci's inventions.. but not heard about this horse. Stupid duke ruined such project..

P.S. In first when I saw this vid in my subscriptions i scared that discovery reviewing MMO (you know they post some stupid vid's some time). LOL :P

  • Why Hollywood stars and millionaires waste money on stuff like expensive cars/diamonds/clothing/bullsh*t, and can't invest money into such marvellous projects? -_-

  • Because it doesn't benifit themself personally; genuine charity is not on their to do list...

Only fraud, laundering, and/or public propaganda...

  • @ZMorpheus

    "propaganda" huh? hmmm, how ironic.

  • Propaganda? Like for example: The makers of Slumdog Millionaire cashing $300m. Supposedly setting up a children's "fund", whilst at the end of the day... The "actor" kids are still living in slums.. Or that after the govt. demolished a kids slum house; the family is living homeless, with no support from the film makers..., who are sipping champagne, banking the millions of revenue they generated at their expense? Yes. Ironic indeed. Here's your 'propaganda' source: /gawker(dot)com/5254181/

  • i miss read your comment. sorry about that.

  • People who question things. I like... :)

  • wow that was very right :]

  • DaVinci is just amazing!

  • His intelligence is amazing. I wonder what IQ rate he had...

  • @ZMorpheus you do know that IQ tests given today are linked to modern society and etc.. there would be a huge part he wouldn't be able to answer in this sort of test.

  • believe it was 225-230

  • I wanted to build an even bigger horse but i got stuck in tractor and my mother exploded and I had to eat fish for a living and I filled a radiator with jam and glued my face to a xylophone and apes on horses stole my radiator

  • oh my god! exactly what I did yesterday!

  • repetitions in the vid. driving me mad O_o

  • DaVinci was sooo smart!?

  • pretty cool. big D deserves to have this completed.

  • Nice vid guys
