There is a very intresting time line for Fripp in 77. After going on the road with Peter Gabriel on his first solo tour (dressed in black and staying in the background), Fripp as summoned to Berlin to help save the "Heroes" sessions. Shortly after that weekend, Fripp was contacted by an artisticly frustrated Daryl Hall (there was a mutual admiration going back years) about doing an album together. Management prevented Hall from joining Fripp when he reformed Crimson in the early 80's.
This was a seris of four albums beginning with Robert Fripp and endind with another alum by him. I know the Daryl Hall was the other artist but I can not remember the other. I think it was Phil Collins? It was to feature the Frippatronics which Fripp used with King Crimson. This was a very interesting and great collection of songs by unlikley participants.
@flrfritsch it was originally trilogy Fripp (exposure),Peter Gabriel Peter II with scratch marks down front cover, and Hall. Each album has one side they do their own work the other are same songs played a different way by each artist. Halls album was delayed 2 yrs. This was a great album, but Fripp's exposure had an amazing line up, including Hall, Peter Hamill, Peter gbriel, and the remarkable terry Roach, or the roach sisters
One of my all-time favourite tunes - thanks so much for uploading. That this album was lost for so long is such a tragedy. It's definitely one of Daryl Hall's finest pieces of work, and Robert Fripp's production is so perfect. I got to work with both of them (on entirely separate projects, many years later) in a mid-level record company capacity. Fripp was a gentleman of the first order - Hall, whom I spent a fair bit of time with over a period of several weeks, was not.
frippertronics at the ending are just amazing but never understood what's going on the middle of the song?
