, it has a group of many stories in it, that were taken out of the film, the book is alot more confusing because you don't meet Mrs. Lovett till the middle of the story, and Toby is Sweeny's assistant, and he doesn't work for Mrs. Lovett, also the barber shop is not over the pie shop, the pie shop is on a completely different street, but their is a tunnel which connects the pie and barber shop underneath a nearby church, hope this is enough explanation for you.
