Super Mario Bros. 2 is not fake though, Mario himself also appear in Doki Doki Panic as well so don't call Super Mario Bros. 2 fake, even some of the enemies in that game also appeared in later Mario games too like Yoshi's Island (Shuy Guys) and Super Mario Bros. 3 (Bob-ombs).

Maro Lost Levels wasn't completely held back from America...The Super Mario Bros. game pack for the Game Boy Color, marking the anniversary of the Mario series, had the lost levels included when beating the original game. But the extra worlds weren't there, and I do believe that they removed the minus world from it too.

Why could we not have this as Super Mario Bros 2? Instead we have a game where Peach is NOT Rescued and Bowser is NOT the boss, and you use Vegetables as attacks.That gae has got to be the worst Mario game ever, if not the 2nd worst mario game ever.

i remember playin this at my grandma's.. i dont know where it is now but i all i remember about it is the 1st lvl. ugh its the hardest mario game i ever played since i never got past world 1-1 haha =^w^=

If you played the Special World in Super Mario World, you'd see that the flying fish in that game aren't nearly as easy to deal with. At least they're only in one stage.

The English SMB2 or Doki Doki Panic is not a fake SMB2. It is actually more real than The Lost Levels.

It's not often that you see Bloopers swim in the air like that in a Mario game. Maybe they're a supspecies of Bloopers whose density is similar to the air that they swim around? (It could also explain why there are fish-like enemies that swim in the air around Macalonia Forest in Final Fantasy X-2.)

Found this little gem in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the GBC too, only in 8-bit of course. Managed to beat it after countless deaths. Now I see why it wasn't originally released!

aw love u kitty, this game brings back good memories. my first snes game so the nostalgia is massive, but I'd say this is a contender for best game ever. I love the graphics and it has the whole nes mario bros series! for a game of this quality to be released when you are a young child.. you are doomed to be a game addict for life

@fifa405 look, as a fan of both old and new games...i heartily disagree.

Even though this game IS good...the jumping momentum is akward at best. This game can be beaten in a matter of an hour or a bit more, and its really just a rehash of the first mario bros with different levels and graphics.

That's not to say this isnt a good game, believe me...but when it comes to SNES games, the one that grabbed my attention was DKC2, not this.

Just wanna say something...it wasn't held back solely because it was too hard. It did also contain elements, such as wind effects and poisoned mushrooms, that they felt American gamers wouldn't like. And they're probably right about that.

Be careful with those jumps on the flag pole. You can jump over them in this game and it'll warp you back to 1-1! I remember the first time I did it... man that was both awesome and irritating.

Either way, everytime I see you jump that high I cringe.

The springboard always launches both brothers like that, even in the original NES version. It's quite funny experiencing it for the first time actually!

-I like to call the out-of-water Bloopers "Dry Bloopers"... But that insinuates that they're skeletal.

-The springboards work like that for Mario, too. Notice their color. They're green.

@DragonClaw3000 Yes, it's called the Lost Levels here since we never got them until Super Mario All Stars. on the other side, our version of Super Mario Bros 2 (in the Subcon world against Wart) was released in Japan as S uper Mario USA, which was actually kinda cheap on Nintendo's part since it was based on an already existing Japanese game called Doki Doki Panic, so in actuality Japanese audiences bought the same game twice except the characters from the original were swapped with Mario

If you're wondering about the springboards, it's because they're green. Green springboards launch Mario/Luigi ridiculously high, while red springboards are the same as in SMB1.
