@wesleymattison00 Only if you shoot them in the hind quarter. I shoot a 338lm and it is no worse then using a 30-06 at a few hundred yds. Once the distance starts getting way out there the bullet just makes a nice hold a person could stick their thumb into easily.
this was hunting, they had to spend time searching for the herd, picking out the ones they want, and then ranging them, judging the wind, everything plays a factor. these are hunters, and besides its hard as hell to get close to antelope, its not like you can sneak through the open prairie without being seen. so lay off...it was good shooting
i prefer getting up close and personal with the animals i hunt, i usually go for the jugular with a knife but my teeth will do just fine if i lose my knife. afterwards i cut out its heart to release its spirit. after all is done i make a 100 mile journey back to my tribe where we feast on your flesh you fuckin moron i hope you choke on your face when you talk @holyfuckareyoustupid

nothing about this is unethical. they can make the shots. so they do. the animal is left undisturbed, not suspecting a thing. those were both instant kills. obviously they have a lot more skill then anyone calling it unethical.
This is just sick. I am a HUNTER, And avid long range target shooter. Under the best circumstances, A 1000 yard shot is a tough one. Out in the field, it is simply irresponsible and uncalled for. That was way cool. I have yet to shot a deer or elk at that distance. I use a Abolt II 338 with a boss system. For the people saying this isnt hunt get real. Ya you can get closer but they want long range and its no fun hitting target like that when you can kill some thing so stop crying because you dont have the gun or the skill to do it. If you dont like it dont watch it read the title you want stalking then go look for that.

Take a handgun put it under your shirt and walk around the state of Illinois and see if you stay out of jail. Illinois, Wisconsin, and DC are the worse. When hunting open plains it is not always possible to stalk and get within several hundred yards of your animal, but herds still need to be controlled.

i hunt from half a mile with my .50 cal. very technical. takes a team of 3 sometimes 4 of us to get it done. never had any deer or elk get away that i have shot at.

be amazing if that was a .50cal BMG shot, but then at that velocity the antelope would just blow apart lol, but nice shots though, must be very precise at the target and the circumstances in your position (distance the bullet starts to drop, temp, latitude, wind speed, etc.) great shot anyways
1000+ yards, that is awesome. sure, some will say, "that's not hunting, it's cheating." pulling off shots at those ranges isn't shooting, it's like performing surgery with bullets. Much more skill, and planning involved than most of the usual idots can ever dream of.

mighty fine shooting, really have to know your equipment at that range. I myself haven't had the chance to reach out past 550, but boy is long range fun!
I use a .270 short mag. Its by far my favorite all around bullet. It shoots at about 3200ft/sec giving it a super-flat tragectory. My father and I can shoot clay pigeons about 7 or 8 out of 10 times at 200 yards with it. We've both also made kills at over 400 yards as well. It has enough power to put down an elk with one good shot.
Anyway, my point is that I would recommend it to your friend.
Or if you enjoy seeing him miss, you could say nothing.
When you are talking about shooting past 1000 yds, hitting a clay pigeon 8 times out of 10 at 200 yds is not very impressive. And at the range these guys are shooting game, a .30- 378 ( what they are using) is MUCH more potent.
A big draw back to long range hunting like this is you have to walk a real long way to just come back with the critter. lol My friend has a heck of a time taking a 250yd shot with his 243. lol Good times I tell you.
idk, i didn't ask him, but i asume its a 150 grain to 250 grain bullet. At that distance, any wind with a light bullet would veerway off course, i'm only 12 but i no, i use to have a 1000 yard vid but i never hit the target and there was quite a bit of wind, Hit way off and low b/c i was using a 223.
You never know you may just get lucky and get one just over the hill. I know when I go hunting I have a coat just for hunting. I do not want to get blood on my good coat.

mighty fine shooting, really have to know your equipment at that range. I myself haven't had the chance to reach out past 550, but boy is long range fun!

I use a .270 short mag. Its by far my favorite all around bullet. It shoots at about 3200ft/sec giving it a super-flat tragectory. My father and I can shoot clay pigeons about 7 or 8 out of 10 times at 200 yards with it. We've both also made kills at over 400 yards as well. It has enough power to put down an elk with one good shot.
Anyway, my point is that I would recommend it to your friend.
Or if you enjoy seeing him miss, you could say nothing.

When you are talking about shooting past 1000 yds, hitting a clay pigeon 8 times out of 10 at 200 yds is not very impressive. And at the range these guys are shooting game, a .30- 378 ( what they are using) is MUCH more potent.

I don't get how its necassary to take 1,000 yard shots. There's always a way to stalk within 500.
But, I guess if can make those shots why not take them. I'm just not that good and stalking is easier for me.

A big draw back to long range hunting like this is you have to walk a real long way to just come back with the critter. lol My friend has a heck of a time taking a 250yd shot with his 243. lol Good times I tell you.

idk, i didn't ask him, but i asume its a 150 grain to 250 grain bullet. At that distance, any wind with a light bullet would veerway off course, i'm only 12 but i no, i use to have a 1000 yard vid but i never hit the target and there was quite a bit of wind, Hit way off and low b/c i was using a 223.

people who have comments like this are uneducated in this type of sport. I do not hunt, just let me make that clear. I used to be tottaly agaisnt it. But learning about the sport and why it is done I am not angry at people who do this. Without hunting the deer and antelope population will be to large and they will starve. So by killing off some of them others have enough food. My friends only go after the ones that are weak and sick so they dont take food from the strong deer.
