@TRanceifyable Most formal belt tests only require a demonstration of understanding and execution of technique. Which is usually why not all schools use them because some teachers prefer to see their students perform the techniques while sparring.

I was told that Marcio Simas is the highest ranked BJJ black belt in the state of florida. He holds about 7 degrees in black belt. Each requires 3 to 9 years accordingly. He told me he has 35 years in the sport. We adhere to the Gracie academy curriculum and sometimes Carlos Gracie Jr. comes to teach seminars. We also study Mui Thai and MMA. All inclussive in the membership fee. Our teachers are champions dedicated to teach.

@scorsese12 There is not a 'real gracie' at our academy, but we learn gracie Jiu-Jitsu from a 'real world champ'.
