I just beat this using your strategy until the end. In an earlier wave I deploed a thief a bit earlier then you choose to ending up with double your gold in the end. The soldier in the last wave you had to wait to level up to 6, I already had it at 6. and near the end of the road on the last wave, I deploed a hunter and levled it to 6 and it killed carbuncle. Therefore I didnt lose any crystals. Total score was 9435 with 580 gil remainin.

it can be full cleared if on some waves u wait a wave to upgrade since u get a higher gill multiplyer if u saveur gil

no thieves are needed since they give double gil win the are near a kill

I was just asking because without the added gil I can't level my guys up anywhere near that powerful. On the 360 there is an acheivement for passing a level "without deploying a thief or losing a crystal" that I think is seriously impossible! :P

no its not cuz i have gotten the no crystal achivement but not the thive 1 but i bet i could if i wanted just have not tried yet. also its just about placement of the people.

you can clear this on perfect if you level up the soldier to 7 after the unicorn dies
