How wonderful to find this online, and to see comments from Nick's relatives too. What a delightful album "Bullet Proof Boy" was - really deserved (and deserves) to be much more widely known than it is.
This is one of the best albums of all time. I saw your dad in The Fixx in Glasgow in 1990 and you could see he had such talent and presence. It was one of the first CD's I bought (because everything was on vinyl before!). I still have it and was playing it this morning. Would be great if he is able to put some stuff on youtube. So nice to find this - sound like Day-V Lately! :-)
Hi guys , for all interested nick my dad is going to put songs on youtube of all his three albums and a music vid from his first album ! There are very few copies of his first album so i suggest that you could convert the youtube files to and mp3 via 'convert youtube to mp3' its very straight forward. hope this could help, Lola.
i had this album. bought it after seeing him support runrig at the caird hall in dundee in the early 90's. lost the disc and never heard it for years till now. thanks for putting it on.
I found this CD in a dollar store. It was a treasure waiting to be unwrapped. It brought me music no one else knew about. I accidentally broke my CV several years ago. DAMN. I would love to hear the other music from the CD, especially The Flame, right? the last song on the CD. I did a painting and named it after the song.

hello everyone its me again , just read my dad all these lovely comments and he is so grateful for how supportive you all are about his work. Many of you seem to want to know a bit more about him so thats what i am here for :)
Hi Lola! I stand by my earlier remarks, your dad's album is up there with the very very best. It's a complete piece of work, perfect in every way. Current faves are Show Me A Sign, which my four kids belt out in the car at full volume, and The Flame; what a beautiful, desolate song. It is as sad as Maria McKee's Wheels, and that is going some. I would really like to know what Nick has been doing since, and where I can buy his stuff. Many thanks.
I have been listening to this record for so long and wondered why I could never find another one. I picked it up at the public library in Syracuse NY. There was a time you could check out cd's and the guy who picked the cd's had great taste....heard Richard Thompson, Syd Straw, many others. This one was one of my favorites. If any of you know Nick, tell him I love the snare shot that kicks off the record during the intro.
Hi Lola, and hello to Nick too! Please pass on my congratulations to Nick for having penned such excellent tunes such as this and the wonderful 'Punch the Wall'. Take care, Jake. x
Lola - please ask your Dad to let us know what other stuff he's done? Bullet Proof Boy is, in my humble opinion, the best album ever made. I've thought about this for a long time, maybe 20 years, and I own a few other fantastic albums, but every time I come back to this one...who else can write such hugely infectious pop, such uplifting ballads, such crushingly sad lyrics? Very, very few. I loved this album when I got it on tape in my 20's, and I love it now in my 40's. It's a thing of beauty.
Hello Lola i am so glad to have found you here on youtube. i'll explain why:
i was in the video for your father's song "show me a sign". i had a copy of the video on video cassette but over the years having moved from England to Spain it got lost somewhere in between! i have been searching for YEARS to find a copy of the video clip without success. Is there any way that you could get a copy? i would be SO GRATEFUL. my email is johnalvispalmer@hotmail.com
@LolaMeganRobertson ...listening to this brings back memories from childhood, of listening to Nicky practice in his bedroom as we played in the street out front. Tell your Dad I said Hi, if he remembers me...if he doesn't...my Mum Carol used to clean for him when he was recording this album, before he moved to London and i used to babysit for your your Auntie Helen and Uncle Stevie ;)
Very, VERY talented artist, such a shame he didn't get the breaks he deserved. Still remember listening to him practising in his bedroom when i was a kid living next door. Remember me Nick? Ricky.

Hi Lola, I was there when he wrote some of those songs. I've still got the early demos we recorded.

Geee, i should rip my CD copy to mp3 once my computer gets fixed... Quite a few sweet tunes on this album.
You haven't lived 'til you've heard "She's Looking Tired"... that one's a real heartbreaker.
