  • beautiful site!!

    tenks for showing..

  • beautiful site!!

  • Nice video. I like vinyl, have about 500 records but...

The problem between the sound quality from cd and vinyl is, the cost to get the high quality in vinyl. The sound quality from a cd-player from around 100 dollar is far more better, then from a 100 dollar turntable with cartridge. If you want the same or better sound quality the cartridge only cost even more then 100 dollar! So a hi-fi cd-player from about 300 dollar and you want that quality in vinyl... a 1000 dollar?

  • @legOldtimer Yes, I agree. I always hear people say that vinyl has better sound quality than CD, but what I never hear is if those people speak from experience or are just relaying information they've read.

I'm not saying vinyl doesn't sound better, but as you mention it's impossible to know unless you can afford equipment that can cost the same as a decent car.

No way could I afford that much! A decent pair of headphones and a CD do me fine.

  • @Jarren202 Cd has better range but is more cold and inorganic. Vinyl is more direct, organic sound, that has been hardly processed at all. It is something physical, it really fills a room and turns that space into its stage. If a vinyl is clean enough, it can almost sound as if the sound isn't coming from anything at all, it's just in the air.

  • @squezey1 truest... vynil produced sound closest to the original source.. vibration of the groove produced organic sound . that is the difference with digital... we feel sound through i.e. skin, head, + bone...if the sound is digital our sense could detect it, a fake source of sound...beside the point, i always transfer my music from vynil to audio cassette. this way vynil is preserved and sound is so closed to t.t..magnetic tape is the best medium to record from vynil..digital sucks..

  • I've got the red vinyl edition, but it's not double :(

    come to play to spain!!!

  • Hey there, hope you're enjoying some hours with Paul Kalkbrenner. Great Music, isn't it?

    Greetings from Germany

    Hellspawn

  • i watched this rite after my gf broke up with me. i was dreamin all rite, dreamn tht it didnt hav to end

  • awesome vid

    and vinyl ftw

  • lol very cool :o didnt know how you made this

  • wow vinyl...the legendary...my parents had some of that stuff. i should try listening to a real record someday...

  • =w=

while justin brings sexy back... only weezer can bring vinyl back.

    =w=

  • i have the red vinyl version(still warpt)

colored vinyl kicks ass. even if if this is more limited.

  • yo mind telling me the name of this song ? i cannot really figure it out, thanks

  • read the notes.

  • Comment removed

  • dreamin' read the description!

  • lol shows what alittle reading can do eh lol haha

  • If have the red vinyl to but it is a little warped, not bad but a bit. And it is new :P

  • Weezer and vinyl= perfect match

  • Vinyl forever!!!!Nothing like having a great band on vinyl !!

  • i love this video my dad is in it :)

  • sorry i put it on their im very afraid of clowns

  • that sounds mildly erotic...

  • I love Vinyl so much

  • Umm. Hate to be a downer cuz I love the band and enjoyed the video, but isn't this kind of just like a 'How it's Made' set to Weezer music?

  • if it is, this is the first entertaining episode of the show. ever.

  • I'm glad we still have some decent modern rock groups like Weezer, especially when it comes to my appreciation for vinyl records. And colored vinyl is pretty cool to own, I actually kind of hoped to see the pressing of the red ones which is what I got.

  • The difference in sound between cd and vinyl does not come from the highest frequency they can transmit. CDs are imperfect because, being digital, they only record 'snapshots' of the sound (44100 per minute), while LPs record the sound continuously -> no loss.

  • Dude, to quote Weezer, you're "dreaming."

  • Actually, a CD "can't do all that." The physics of analog contact & transmission contradict your theory by producing a unique sound a CD may imitate but will not re-create. Please refrain from commenting on subjects you "don't pay attention to."

  • The "something different" DJ's create with vinyl enables features you may not achieve with CD's- Even on "CDJs." Those features, made possible through analog format, are part of the sound. You clearly have no experience with this field and make up for this by insults and false information. I cannot make you look smart or foolish: you take care of latter better than I possibly could.

  • "Differenct?" Nice spelling says, I, the "ignorant, stupid dumbass" or the person who is "not really thinking here." Obviously, ye' of poor spelling, you missed MY point. You talk the talk, but fail to walk the walk. Like I said and will repeat again: I will outspin CD, MP-3 or any digital format on vinyl any time. Stop complaining, unless you want to back up your statement by answering my challenge. Otherwise, please take a seat.

  • Although the quality is different, people prefer what they wish, not what you wish they prefer. I challenge you to outmix me using MP-3's and CD's while I use only vinyl. Instead of name-calling, prove yourself and we'll see who truly "blows."

  • i have it but the one i have is a red vinyl its the special edition.... so yeah you can definitely buy them

  • I would really like to wrap my hands on one of these...

  • Vinyl is not obsolete, its actually better quality than a CD since it's analog instead of digital, better sound quality

  • Vinyl is only as obsolete as your ignorance.

  • @RichardsCW The words you typed shows YOUR ignorance..... what do you prefer then ??' cd's ?? tapes ?? vinyl is a wide open format for sound quality, and not only that but also is a matter of knowledge, feeling, even style. Anyway, i might be wasting my time replaying this, you might not understand or even care.

  • this song probably took like 20 minutes to write

    I like it though

  • Dreamin is such a good song

  • Well, shit. I only own the 1xLP red vinyl version. :/

  • there are no bad songs on any weezer album ever created

  • eh, i was a tad bit dissapointed in Red Album, but still glad i bought it, cuz for every bad song, theres one song thats so good it counts as 2 good ones. i think Automatic, Pork N Beans, Troublemaker and Dreamin would have been enough to make me buy it, I also liked Greatest man who ever lived. but the rest was kinda crappy.

  • Can you buy this edition? like the actual vynal? I searched google and some other places with no results

  • Weezer recorded their newest album originally on master tapes that is so retro!

  • black vinyl? should be red. prince is putting purple rain back out in 180G purple vinyl

  • Combobreaker!

This is a really underrated song on the album, I love the chorus.

  • this is so koolio

  • the Kooliest lolol

  • the koolest.

  • Koolioest

  • I was considering buying the red album for a couple of weeks, but I was still unsure about it. I liked Pork and Beans but I didn't really connect with Troublemaker, so I was on my way to not buying it.

I then stumbled onto this video, and that clinched it; I bought the deluxe album last week, and it has effected me much in the same way that Blue and Pinkerton did.

I have one thing to suggest: buy the deluxe! It has a couple extra songs on it that redeems the album from the couple bad ones.

  • oh, and if you look on the inside of the cardboard, it shows pictures of them, with captions, and they spelt Rivers's name River

    its weird

  • huh, my weezer vinyl was red

  • yeah, that's about the equivalent of $23 bucks here in the States, which is still really good. i mean, it is super rare that you'll find any in a shop for more than $60 here (=37.74 british pounds), so those $1000+ albums are the type of things people put in a frame and hang up on a wall (which is a shame, because all vinyl i think should be played and enjoyed).

  • oh man, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones always get huge money (especially the japanese prints of the Stones). luckily i have like half of The Beatles discography, and i didn't pay a cent for them. a friend of mine has a friend who is a DJ, and when the USB turntables started coming in, he ripped all his vinyl to his computer. i ended up getting White Album, Abby Road, and Hey Jude (The Beatles Again), and about 75% of their greatest hits albums

  • very true. that and vinyl does appreciate in value over time (unlike CDs), kinda like a classic car. you go to a record shop and see some of the classic stuff there and it can cost a pretty penny. some of those old albums printed on vinyl can run well over $1000, when they were first sold as new in a shop could have been only $5-$10.

  • Is this the Discovery Channel?

  • i want one!

  • I wanna try and see if anywhere around where I live is carrying those. Great to see Weezer is preserving that good quality you can only get from vinyl!

  • Sweet and enduring vinyl. Does Weezer record on tape still?

  • theres your music video rite there i love artists that keep vinyl enthusiasts in mind great job guys

  • whats speacial about record players

    just asking???

  • they play records.

  • Much better sound quality and the fact that a lot of albums weren't released on CD. I have to buy Ted Mulry Gang albums on vinyl as they weren't rereleased.

  • Yeah yes, well records it has been a while but, I did have a player in the early 90s. I miss them, that was cool.

  • Wow, so beautiful!

  • Wow, pretty retro dudes, takes me back to 1970s and beatles and stones albums all over the floor with a hi-fi stereophonic turntable.

  • Robert Lepe shot and chopped the video beautifully!

And Weezer makes beautiful music! :)

  • Woah, Weezer... thanx!

    Luvd all the offset stuff...

  • Worked on a printing press like that for a year. Did sporting tickets tho.

  • yeah i can kill for an disck from the red album prited from rivers cuomo

  • Cool

  • Ah yes, Vinyl! A must have for elite weezer fans. I have Pinkerton, too. I really wish I had the blue album. If anyone knows where i can find one, please send the info to me or my page. Thanks!! =w= Rock Music.

  • That is wicked cool. Now I want it haha ^_^

  • i love weezer! and my mom is Kathy Waldron from RTI. the record making process is facinating in person, I've grown up around records my entire life. :)

  • i want a modren record soooo bad but too bad i don't have a record player. :( lol

  • Awesome! But where do we buy it?

  • 86th comment lol pork and beans is the best

  • sweet! weezer, with an RIAA curve! haha rock'n those reals

  • I want!

  • Very cool indeed.

    =)

    I love records.

    Hands down.

  • Dreamin' is my favorite song on the album next to Ms. Sweeney and The Greates Man that ever lived. Imo this is there second best album (tied with Pinkerton) and of course #1 album forever and always The blue Album, Keep up the good work guys, you have earned the celebrity that you have now and I'm truthful when i say that it couldnt have happened to a better band. =w= for life. Keep producing miracles guys.

  • have you listened to the angel and the one

    best weezer song ever

  • Actually i have, its a good song, but have you heard the songs In the Garage, The Sweater Song and basically their whole first album....Buddy Holly Only in Dreams, My name is Jonas.....dude seriously, i dont know many TRUE weezerholics who would disagree with me

  • sweater song was awesome

but the read album seems to be my favorite yet

my name is jonas is even better

  • So how is the Troublemaker video going? Fabulous, I'm sure! Anyways, I love the song!

    =w=

  • best song on the album

Music in the vacuum of space it is the part of the holy trinity of forces next to gravity and LOVE

  • Comment removed

  • does it sound cooler on a record player?

  • Better quality if you have a good player.

  • sometimes songs just sound awesome through an old record player

    idk

  • But it's better quality though.

  • I almost bought the record in the store, but i didn't have enough money. :( I got "Alone" on vinyl though.

  • sinse when have they still made records?

  • Always...

  • Records have never died. Unfortunately, major retailers have stopped selling them.

  • realy? well you learn some thing new every day...

I thought they stoped making them...

    thanks!

  • no they have never stopped making vinyl, thankfuly otherwise my mom would not have had a job for the past 20 years. try going to a small record store, not a huge chainstore, in the late 1990's they started coming back HUGE and you could find them places like hot topic a such...

  • Very cool! I always wondered how vinyl records were made. 3:52 reminds me of a scene in Catch Me If You Can.

  • you shuld send me one (hint hint )

  • who buys records anymore?

  • SWEET! O I so want one I don't even have anything to play it on, it just looks uber cool!

Umm that's so weird how one of the Tags for this video is "religious" :P

  • Heres my card...

  • I LOVE WEEZER!!!!

  • i pretty much NEED one of these

  • Im a huge weezer fan and I have alot of vinyl, but I really don't have any desire to buy the Red Album on vinyl. The new Modest Mouse record and the new Wilco record on vinyl are awesome though, but the songs on the new Weezer record are good but not timeless or worthy of vinyl, except maybe "The Angel and the One".

  • they couldnt put it on a red vinyl

  • Vinyl? What's that? Just teasing. I guess "The Making Of The Green Album Deluxe CD" will be a big YouTube clip in 5 years.

  • There was already a Green...

  • they need 2 make a best of so far cd (assuming this isnt the end which it shoudlnt be)

  • where can i get the vynal i love vynals more than cds so yea haha

  • Very cool!

  • Love the song!

  • This is awesome. I hope this isn't the only video with Dreamin' because it is probably my favorite song on the Red Album. And if there isn't a music video I might have to make my own, please don't let it come to that.

  • Cool video!! Nice video about the production process. I was alwasy curious how they would made that :)

  • That's very cool. I can't wait to get one of those bad boys. Sweeney, baby, I'm ready...

  • now that i know how to do it im secretly gonna disapear and ill call it the blue album in 30 years lol

  • Very cool!

  • I can't wait so were can i get it

  • Weezer!! I love the red album, hope the vinyl makes its way to Europe!! - Also if you musical lads get time, grab a copy of my band's album from my youtube page. No charge, its very Weezer like, Rock Pop! Anyway I'll be looking forward to this vinyl soooon!! :D

  • Very enlightening seeing how a record is made. Hopefully I can get this here in Europe. Yeah, vinyl!

  • Vinyl rules

  • that makes... 4 versions of the Red Album? oh lawd...

  • awesome!! you guys should use this as the music video, it was awesome

  • whens the troublemaker video coming out???

  • so where can i get this?

  • veerrry nice!

  • You know...I think that's the first time I've ever seen how a record is actually made. I mean, I knew how they were made, just never saw it done.

  • Wonder how many of your fans even know what a vinyl is! Weezer rocks!!

  • Learned something today. I didn't know anyone still made those things.

  • I have a tanoy direct drive TT, a Thaedra servo loop GAS preamp, and a Crown DC 300A Amp. All vintage 1975, and i'm the original owner... All in good working order :)

  • I totally went out and bought that first day it was out!
