  • Redcave will be played at my funeral.

  • "Mary's house in the willow of the white hazel, near the rapid whirlpool, near the church of the red cave"

In Welsh language this is ONE WORD "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch "

The Longest word in Welsh / place name in Wales. (That country stuck on the side of England)

  • So fucking DOPE!

  • If only we could all be this close to each other. Every day I crave this kind of contact. Not distant, sterile "discussion" or other sterile forms of socializing, but some good old singing. If only.

  • @mimib4290 Keep dreaming asshole - that world is gone. You'd better get used to sterile, bureaucratic speak because it's only going to get worse. If you can't deal with it, get yourself a flux capacitor because you down't belong here.

  • @SuperApparition It isn't that I think this will happen. It's simply worth saying. To yearn for connection is natural, and to vocalize this need is equally so. I'm sure I will find three people to sing with one day. That will be enough.

  • best. ever.

  • Hugh Jackman's in this band? lol

  • does anybody know if that is joe driscoll at 4:57?!?!?!?!

  • @sheilareynolds I thought that too!

  • head and shoulders is better

  • the best la blogotheque video ever i think so

  • They look so happy and quite frankly this sounds better than the album. The purity of his voice... The spoons... And a heiniken. It's absolutely bloody amazing what these guys can do with nearly nothing. I am determined to do this. Someday.

  • This makes me smile

  • Gaspar?

  • are they drinking on the metro?

  • @raulesgrande other people were too....i guess it's allowable in france(probably most of europe in fact)

  • @raulesgrande everyone drinks on the metro!

  • @comeontigerlily it is we can drink were we like in my country you can even drink in hospital during your own operation

  • i like the spoon player

  • the singer looks a little stoned..hohoho ~.~

  • @PsychoLemonpie And I loves him for this fact.

  • ahh heck yeah!

  • i love this! for real!

  • This is so happy and awesome!

  • Chris Keating's range is impressive

  • I have met, so many people i deeply care for.

  • @MrSoapx it's such a simple yet beautiful line hey..

  • Amazing. They really finish strong.

  • lucky civilians

the girl in the back is loving it bahah!

  • I'm quite certain that this is my favorite Takeaway show so far. The spontaneity & sheer fun the band is having just makes the video shine. :) Love it.

  • listening to it again just makes me love it moooooore

  • these guys have balls ;)

  • I want this and all the take away shows on a cd.

  • beso means "kiss"

  • real music

  • I really love this video... They are wonderful. I was lucky enough to see them live in Argentina last month (haven't heard them before) and they were absolutely amazing... A great surprise!!

  • INCREDIBLEHHHH!!!!!!!! <3

i love when they slide down the staircase :D

  • Just found this cool thang. watched this and Frederik Teige...cool idea!!!

  • if this vid doesnt make you happy what does?

  • freaks! very cool. ^^

  • those people in the next car over look so jealous.

  • It must have been amazing to be in that metro with these guys, I'm so jealous

  • "PENAL"

  • they look like theyre having so much fun! i wish i was on that train!

  • I want to go live in france just incase i happen upon a band performing on the subway or somewhere for LaBlogotheque

  • Next Yeasayer album should be all acoustic. Screw Odd Blood.

  • @cordell2311 agree. All Hours Cymbals was so awesome.

  • hell yeah. spoons and bottles over synths and other bullshit.

  • geesh, I wish I could have been there for this.

  • this is how i want to live my life

  • great band ever seen

  • i felt like i was in a scene in the warriors at the end of redcave!

  • Loved it! See, seeing performances like these: pure, raw, and genuine, they're the best. I just love how they had a good time with it and how everyone was happy. Hell, made me smile. :) Thank you LaBlogotheque for EXISTING.

  • best band in the history of bands

  • Um da da dum da da dum da da dum da da um da da dum da da dum.

  • @adrianbeloo "Are we taking the subway now?"

  • 11 people kill puppies for fun.

  • We're having fun in the metroooooooooo!

  • love Take away show from Blogotheque

  • plus this made me get goosebumps & cry

  • if this happened in phoenix someone wouldve ruined the video. i hate it here.

  • saw these guys at leeds...they were so awesome, absolutely amazing live and my favourite band, cant get enough of them

  • To me this sounds like...very talented young musicians, sick and bored and therefore making fun of the "the all-set post-modern society"

...are in search of the utter simplicity in music.

Very funny! Very to the point.

  • This is so good and happy it literally brings me close to tears. I would KILL to be on that metro. This band is so talented and has so much heart, and seeing the closeness these guys must have and the joy in their work that makes them able to do something like this is inspiring. Oh Yeasayer, I love you.

  • Aaaaw it's awesome!!!! Damn good!! Better than the album version!

  • honestly, i love/hate to watch these cos the performaces are generally awesome and the crowd reception aloof at best.

    DANCE MOTHERFUCKERS!!!

  • Wow.

    Just...wow.

With all the horrible rap and lady gaga and generic Creed and Nu metal sounding bands dominating the radio and television, it's nice to hear/see something like this that reminds you there is actually talent and heart left in music.

You just gotta dig a little deeper these days to find it.

  • @stickydog480 Very well put.

  • wow

  • this is timeless

  • this is just beautiful!!

  • lucky people in that train!

  • This is the way you gain respect as a musician, I bet no one in that metro disliked this, although they might not even like this kind of music. This is how music should be, pure and from the heart!

  • ahaha those people on the train love the shit out of them.

  • That is one of the best things I've ever seen.

  • man im not even gonna try to express how awesome that was

  • Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch = Mary's house in the hollow of the white hazel rapid whirlpool and the church of the red cave

  • I've also seen this plenty of times, and it kills me everytime I hear Chris say 'Wooo, we're having fuuun on a metroo!" haha

  • man this is one of the greatest things i have ever seen! haha!

that was pretty awesome ; )

  • this is music at its most natural rawness. amazing video

  • Who would thumbs down this video? How can you not smile

  • Absolutly Wonderfull!! Made my Day! I feel bad for the guy that got off... he missed the best part. Moron!

  • well if there's a little bit of heaven on youtube it was definitely this. i heart Yeasayer <3

  • love!

  • Amazing! Best take away!

  • it"s surprising that thay apparently sing clearer than fleet foxes in their take away show...

  • I'm so blessed to have spent the time with the family and the friends I love. In my short life I have met so many people I deeply care for :)

  • guh.

  • These guys are as cool as they are talented. And I don't think they even know how amazing they are.

  • these guys harmonize good as fudge

  • i just realized that red cave would be amazing with some bagpipes behind the voices

  • i love ira wolf tuton. i wish he'd reply to my valentine. and why be upset during the second blog ? eh ?

  • Genial, genial, genial!!!

  • man soo awesome now im not gonna hate on AC here but i have to say live yeasayer destroys animal collective and both yeasayer lablog vids were 10x better than AC but both bands are sick so who cares

  • haha, that dude totally broke his glass at the end of the vid. fantastic show, wish i could have been there.

  • music , what a gift! it brings so much joy to life. Love these guys!

  • "We're having fun in the meeetroooo" hahah, cute guys

  • I'm completely stunned.

This brings up the best of life!

This smile will last for another few hours i think :)

  • I completely agree with you. After a few months now I'm still returning to see it again :D

  • same here =D

  • see you in amsterdam guys!!

  • I love videos like this. Only thing is that I get so jealous because look at the fun they are having! Amazing.

  • Redcave is an amazing song

  • that is AWESOME

  • man o man, its a thing of beauty. a real moment captured. love these lads.

  • Oh yeah thats realy fantastic go on guys :-))

  • I believe that more people need to watch this.

  • Touche.

  • great energy,very positive happy vibes,and so simple and direct,like it a lot,hehe

  • It really is talent when all you need is a spoon, a railing and your voices to sound good.

  • @divinati0n So being able to sing well doesn't equal talent? Since when?

  • @windowzombie no, i'm not saying that, of course a good voice is talent, i just mean being able to perform in such a situation isn't something anyone can do, regardless of their singing abilities, this is just ALL THE MORE proof of their talent and abilities as performers

  • @divinati0n Whoops, I totally misread your comment, sorry!!

  • @windowzombie amen.

  • Comment removed

  • @divinati0n and a beer.

  • they are soooo incredibly inspiring.

  • these guys are awesome. the end if definitely the best.

  • Wow. That almost made me drunk too.

  • this is soooo amazing.

  • I can't tell you how many times I've watched this video.

It's actually getting better and better, too.

  • Word!

  • same.

this video is what made me get into yeasayer, i love them now.

  • @GrizAthrogate ive watched it at least 30 times : )

  • take away show means that the artists don't just play at club or a concert hall but they take the shows with them. so they play in the subway or in a flat of a friend or something like this as you can see in the video. they also often use unusually things to perform their music which makes it even greater.

  • okay this may sound really...ignorant, but I don't know what a take-away show is and what is a blagotheque? I take french, but I don't recognize the word. Like a library - bibliotheque? I don't live in a big city, but this makes me want to

  • A cat is a cat, a take-away show is a take-away show !

Seriously, "La Blogothèque" calls some great artists and ask them to play in the Paris streets, in the parisian subway, or at parisians homes.

    Love Yeasayers ! ahah

  • hehe you pretty much nailed it

and also, a take-away-show is where bands like YEASAYER, Seasick Steve, etc. go out and play live on the streets

i can send you the link :)

  • cctc11891 : Blog + bibliothèque = Blogothèque ...

  • Oh! Thank you! A light bulb just went off in my head!

  • I love this. I. love. this. LOVE IT

  • 5:26 I think Anand thinks he broke the train :P

  • "this thing is good, because alot of people want to see it..."

  • i dont understand why they dont do a whole album all stripped down to the bone like these songs.they are obviously geniouses at it.these guys know exactly what the fuck they are doingPERIOD

  • I agree. There album is too polished and perfect sounding. These videos sound amazing. I love how he's using his keys or a spoon to make the beat in the background, so simple yet awesome.

  • I agree, I would do it for free if I had a couple really really good shotgun mics and a nagra! :) These guys are awesome.

  • Chris Keating seems to be pissed off at Vincent Moon for some reason. Saying something about Vincent's directing and being angry with his shallowness

  • i luv vincent moon

  • All humans need this.

  • dude!! its like a festival!!!

  • this reminds me of christmas :) i'd love to see something like this at christmas.

  • "I'm so blessed to have spend that time with my family and the friends I love; with my short life i have met so many people I deeply care for "

    gives me goosebumps!

  • i know! absolutely beautiful...

  • great!

  • 'i never did worry about the little things'...;). xxx

  • this acapella version is so much better than the album version.

  • a-freaking-greed. so much.

  • ahh, that felt good.

  • I dare you to watch this and not smile. Not possible whatsoever.

  • You know how sometimes you hear music, and you know from the very INSTANT it starts that you're going to love it indefinitely? Yeah ... that just happened to me.

  • fantastic. magical.

they came to our tiny college, best show i've ever seen.

so much better live than their studio album.

  • "i'm so blessed to have spent this time with my family and the friends i love,

in my short life i have met so many people i deeply care for"
