@010101puddle A vagina is much easier to construct than a penis in theory. It was a medical difficulty for a very long time, on how to make the penis work like a natural penis without having complications, also allowing sexual feeling, not just appendage is very important to improve quality of life for patients. Things havent always been as developed as they are now, and even in the present day there can be many difficulties and complications such as infection and rejection of tissues.

And, furthermore, Reimer told Oprah in 2002 that many times he would just pretend taking the pills. Yet, the few that he did end up taking made his breasts grow. He had to have them removed. The reason girls are smaller than boys in general is because estrogen is responsible for the closing of the epiphysis (the rounded end of a long bone).

Had they attempted a reconstruction of the penis, it would be horrible disfigured and hardly resemble a normal male penis. The failing of this experiment arises from Dr. Money's bias. @namejones If you do a little research you'll find that the circumcision was for urological reasons, not aesthetic. This wasn't just on the parent's whim. I fully believe his parents wanted to do right by their kids, but they were misguided and got taken in by a sick deluded doctor.

i hope you all know that this happens EVERY time a baby is born without "normal" gentials. it is easier to cut than to build- it is actually impossible to build a fully functional artificial penis for a baby, since the tissue grows with the child and must be able to hold an erection. artificial vaginas, however, can become just as fully functional and aesthetic as natural-born ones. this is cruel and inhumane- but it happens to 1 in 2000 babies. AND DOCTORS CAN LEGALLY DO THIS WITHOUT CONSENT!

People who believe TV shapes gender clearly forget that people invented TV and people produce what appears on TV. Unfortunately, this experiment was necessary. While it may have ruined lives, it also saved thousands of others. GLTB's who have been called "Unnatural," "freaky," "twisted," and "messed up" can, because of this tragedy, rest easy. They know that their sexuality is because of nature and how they are supposed to be -- not because they're freaks. I just hope this experiment will never be repeated.

It was a medical difficulty for a very long time, on how to make the penis work like a natural penis without having complications, also allowing sexual feeling, not just appendage is very important to improve quality of life for patients. Things havent always been as developed as they are now, and even in the present day there can be many difficulties and complications such as infection and rejection of tissues.

@drbotanus Actually, if he had kept on taking female hormones, he would never have reached 6 ft. He stopped taking them just in time, at 14. And, furthermore, Reimer told Oprah in 2002 that many times he would just pretend taking the pills. Yet, the few that he did end up taking made his breasts grow. He had to have them removed. The reason girls are smaller than boys in general is because estrogen is responsible for the closing of the epiphysis (the rounded end of a long bone).

Had they attempted a reconstruction of the penis, it would be horrible disfigured and hardly resemble a normal male penis. The failing of this experiment arises from Dr. Money's bias. He ignored the hard facts that pointed to Brenda rejecting her female upbringing. Also, he was a little twisted...
