I wouldnt say better...its such a wildly different version that cant say its better than the original but I do lobe it, and the original. Sabbath and System are both 2 of my favorite metal bands and clearly the latter respects the former!

Sabbath were a brilliantly influential band, but very much over-rated. They had some epic songs like Black Sabbath, but compared to the amount of songs they made, they had quite a small amount of epic songs.
@pinkmullet4 Yes I have. . . a lot of their songs aren't special. They're half decent songs, but the kind of song you pass over once and never think about again [i.e. the entire Mob Rules album]. Hardcore Sabbath fans build an image up of some band who have a 100% God streak that Sabbath just don't meet even in the slightest. They have some songs that will forever be deep in my heart from childhood . . . but their God status is overplayed a lot.

If you're saying "they removed the guitar solos because they can't play them" then you're wrong, they probably removed it because a guitar solo wouldn't work with the style the song is in. It's up-beat and quite hyperactive, meanwhile the snowblind solo is more retro.

Goddammit, they're different versions, Sabbath's is more classical, retro and calm..this is most fast paced, eccentric and has that air of WTF that SOAD put into a lot of their songs, it's what makes them original, and this is not an original song because it was already made by Black Sabbath, but is one of the most original covers i've heard...and really SOAD and Black Sabbath seems odd...and SOAD did it, it is odd, but its good, it's a good cover from an original good song from 2 GREAT bands...
You can't really compare the Black Sabbath version and the System of a down version. It's like comparing Jack Nicholsens Joker and Heath Ledgers. Two different Jokers for two different eras, two different versions of a song from two different eras. Both great in their own unique way.

Reasons why kids like this better than the original:
Because it has a modern production, an under developed musical taste needs crystal clear, obnoxious sound to grab their attention. System of a Down and Nu Metal appeals more to kids than Classic Metal. When I was younger I didn't really like the original. But as you grow older, you begin to see the point.
Youngsters also have no sense of PACE. Everything super fast, clock-like, robotic, no swing, no groove. These kids today must take about 15 seconds to fuck.
The original Sabbath track has the grooviest drum track you'll ever hear in a hard rock tune that doesn't have John Bonham on drums. And Iommi's solo at the end is sheer ecstasy, musical equivalent to peaking on coke.
I don't have a problem with System, but this SUCKS ASS, completely misses point of the song.

The fact that Black Sabbath's Master of Reality and Vol 4 remains two of Metal's heaviest albums of all time after almost 40 years should tell you something. Even in the beginning, Sabbath were pretty much as heavy as you could possibly fucking get. SOAD aren't even in the same league. abbath's music absolutely is NOT boring.Anybody who doesn't like Sabbath isn't a Metal fan...I don't care what they say.SOAD are borderline anyhow. Some of their stuff is decent, but they aren't even close to BS.
I'll go a bit further--the first six Sabbath albums (the two you named, plus Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and Sabotage) are absolutely seminal metal albums. The only SOAD album that even comes close to even the weakest of those 6 albums is Toxicity. The rest of their stuff--eh. Always a good track or two on all their albums, but lots of filler. The heaviest Sab of the first 6 albums is heavier than Satan himself.
The Black Sabbath version is a masterpiece....this is just shit...

@pinkmullet4 Yes I have. . . a lot of their songs aren't special. They're half decent songs, but the kind of song you pass over once and never think about again [i.e. the entire Mob Rules album]. Hardcore Sabbath fans build an image up of some band who have a 100% God streak that Sabbath just don't meet even in the slightest. They have some songs that will forever be deep in my heart from childhood . . . but their God status is overplayed a lot.

They are one of the most original bands in music history. and I will concede that anything post original line-up Sabbath isn't great but when Ozzy was in the band they made 8 masterpiece albums consecutively. No other band has a winning streak like that. The reputation they have in the mainstream as the silly band that made "iron man" is insulting.

Goddammit, they're different versions, Sabbath's is more classical, retro and calm..this is most fast paced, eccentric and has that air of WTF that SOAD put into a lot of their songs, it's what makes them original, and this is not an original song because it was already made by Black Sabbath, but is one of the most original covers i've heard...and really SOAD and Black Sabbath seems odd...and SOAD did it, it is odd, but its good, it's a good cover from an original good song from 2 GREAT bands...

That little sung melody they've added during the main guitar riff just sounds fucking amazingly G-A-Y. "Da da da dunh da da-da!" I can see a little fairy dancing around in his pink leotard to that. And dude sounds like a massive nerd the way he says "Cocaine!"
The Sabbath song goes somewhere. The solo at end is a powerful climax. This meanders around pathetically for 5 minutes and takes you nowhere. But maybe the people who like this don't know what a climax is.

Because it has a modern production, an under developed musical taste needs crystal clear, obnoxious sound to grab their attention. System of a Down and Nu Metal appeals more to kids than Classic Metal. When I was younger I didn't really like the original. But as you grow older, you begin to see the point.

The original Sabbath track has the grooviest drum track you'll ever hear in a hard rock tune that doesn't have John Bonham on drums. And Iommi's solo at the end is sheer ecstasy, musical equivalent to peaking on coke.
I don't have a problem with System, but this SUCKS ASS, completely misses point of the song.

The fact that Black Sabbath's Master of Reality and Vol 4 remains two of Metal's heaviest albums of all time after almost 40 years should tell you something. Even in the beginning, Sabbath were pretty much as heavy as you could possibly fucking get. SOAD aren't even in the same league. abbath's music absolutely is NOT boring.Anybody who doesn't like Sabbath isn't a Metal fan...I don't care what they say.SOAD are borderline anyhow. I'll go a bit further--the first six Sabbath albums (the two you named, plus Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and Sabotage) are absolutely seminal metal albums. The only SOAD album that even comes close to even the weakest of those 6 albums is Toxicity. The rest of their stuff--eh. Always a good track or two on all their albums, but lots of filler. The heaviest Sab of the first 6 albums is heavier than Satan himself.
