The subject that I think that spartan2600 is touching upon is the fact that the U.S. and China are headed to the same desination from different directions economically. The Chinese are "freeing up" a bit to quasi capitalism and we have been "tightening up" to quasi socialism/communism for decades. The fear is that we will both (China/USA) end up closer to socialism/communism than to the free market. And for way too long the GOP has allowed itself to be infiltrated by "centrists" while the

Definitely not. Socialism means the workers control the economy. What has actually happened is the middle classes have shrunk, and the rich have gotten rich increasing their dominant control of the economy. Obama, Bush, Clinton and Reagan are all neo-liberals economically, with slight differences. China has adopted some neo-liberal policies, but kept some social policies from Maoism, like public healthcare.

@spartan2600 we can work with history, and if you were in college today you'd be learning that united states itself is constantly plugging holes revising its own democracy, answering both theoretical and practical about democracy, which happened to be the same questions that our Chinese leaders are asking the Americans in democracy talks, for which the US had no complete answers to (in your news), you want to force this not exactly fully cooked democracy on us? you want us to become an italy?

@PropagandaBuster I did go to a public high school, but I also went to Wheaton College, a prestigious conservative Evangelical school. On top of that, I was indoctrinated by my mother more than anyone, and she is a Rush Limbaugh/Bill O'reilly fanatic- which means I was pretty hard right throughout high school. I've been surrounded by conservatives my whole life.
