  • It's interesting to see that Hope's eyes reflect far more of the dim night vision light than the domestic cats. Something I didn't know.

  • that bug that flew up to the camera @ 3:25 = SO COOL :))

    xx

  • lol

  • the grae and wighte cat looks like my sisters cat pigen

  • WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO LET HOPE EAT CATNIP!

  • @SUNBEAM880 Never, Hope was actually released back into the wild about a year ago! :)

  • Awwwww Hope is just so adorable! ^^

  • 暗夜中可爱的小精灵

  • I'm a big fan of this series and its great what all you guys do.

  • What's the point in filming with night vision, cats can see infrared, so it would be the same as filming with the lights on anyway...

    however, they are beautiful cats

  • @ceilingkatt they can't infrared waves, they have more rod cells in their eyes. plus they have huge eyes compared to humans.

  • @ceilingkatt The point in filming with night vision is so WE can see what's going on, not for the cats.

  • These are just regular cats!

  • three of them are, one is a bobcat!

  • very cool

  • very cool

  • Momma cat looks like she's coming back into heat.

  • I'd like to touch her ears o.o

  • Awesome series. I remember back in the sumer of 2008 the vet facility I worked for had a bobcat kitten that was found abandoned and sick in the wild. We attempted to nurse it back to health and contacted BCR about his future. You all said that there was another kitten about his age that was there. Could this be her? The facilities our little bobcat would be in are very nice, but unfortunately he passed away due to uncurable epileptic severe seizures. =[ Do your bobcats have seizures?

  • It could well of been Hope, yes. Fortunately none of our bobcats have seizures

  • That's good, I was wondering if it was common or something. We tried to treat him for epilepsy, but nothing worked, unfortunately. He's in a good place now though. I'm glad I got to experience taking care of a wild-cat kitten, it was very educational and touching.

How is Hope doing by the way?

  • At least you did your best and he's resting in peace now, Hope is doing great and turning into a real wild, hunting bobcat!

  • a baby bobcat same size as a cat

  • Yeah, Hope is getting big, florida bobcats can get up to 30lbs!

  • That trait of "eye shine" is what caused people in 'the dark age of the cat' to assume the animals were witches' familiars. They gave that as a reason (or excuse.)

Many domestics cats were thrown into the fires, killed along with the "witches."

    Ignorance is not always bliss.

Sometimes I think people are the wildest animals around.

  • Lol, True. I also hate others ignorance.

  • hahah She plays like my Tommy

  • She looks so sweet!

  • Wow! It's fascinating to see those glimpses of the future wild huntress amid the kittenish goofiness.

I'm curious though, do they use the den much when it's raining? It looks like the den has a floor that goes down, and that seems like a recipe for a puddle.

  • doragami: The den floors are elevated above the terrain to prevent puddles.

  • Oh, good! I should have figured you guys would have thought about that anyway. :)

  • They are so cute...

  • Hope is such a sweetie, it's great to see her growing up!

  • OMG KITTY KATS! YAY! Super cute! :)

  • Yay Hope!! It is so good to see a video of her and her family. Thanks BCR!!!

  • I noticed when the bobcat lowers her head the pattern on her ears gives the illusion that she is still looking up, (I paused it at 1:49) Her ears almost look like big eyes. I am glad to see episode 11!!!

  • yes finally

  • YEAH! finally!

  • Aww! this is so cute! It is also a very good idea because it makes Hope start to learn that for the rest of her life it will no longer be cosy and warm in the house, but outside in the night, under any weather conditions!!

  • That eye shine is what caused people in the 'dark age' of the cat to be convinced that cats were "witches' familiars."

Sometimes, the advance of science and technology can be a good thing.

  • This is wonderful! It's great to see further progression of Hope, and this night footage is great.

Four paws up for Hope =^.^=

  • Wow, momma cat really enjoys all the smells on the ground. Question, has she been spayed yet? I'm guessing not, that to remove her and then put her back with Hope smelling like surgery might be problematic. SO, has she gone into heat? Her rolling around like that could be a sign of heat also.

  • The mother cat has been spayed and all of these domestic cats have found their new forever homes. This video was shot several months ago. We plan to release Hope this spring. It is much harder to get video of her now because we keep people away from her and have only the security cameras to watch her progress.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhh there adorible!

  • When do you plan on releasing her back into the wild? I hope not for a while. She still seems a bit small. Does she have a growth spirt coming up?

Shes coming along great though BCR!

    You guys are awesome!

  • What kind of cat is that with the bobcat? It looks like a normal domestic cat.

  • It is! Go back and see the earlier videos of Hope. They're great! She was so young, a domestic mother cat, who had two young kittens of her own, nursed Hope and they have been together since. The kittens and mom will be place into homes at a certain point. They romp and play like siblings. Interesting because in the wild, a Bobcat would kill and eat a domestic cat if able to catch it!!!!!

  • YAY! Another Hope update!
