Lenny this is great stuff! i like how you add your own flavor to the song. Most guitarists at my church play the same old original stuff. Your an inspiration to us all:D Good job
I love what u do. As far as worship guitar goes, you and me are on the same level, but you come up with very creative stuff. I tend to wanna play things exactly as the artists do it, but youve kinda inspired me to want to add my own touch to it. thanks for these videos.
just one more question: will electro acoustic guitar give exactly this sound , provided with necessary amps, pedals, etc. Or is it only electric guitar that can make possible this powerful play ?
So beautiful. So much variety on just one instrument.
For a dummy beginner, do you recommend to start with acoustic guitar to learn playing or start with electric? Electric guitar seems to give a lot of variety. Please advise.
When you were learning guitar how did you start? Thank you.
@cornerstoneReal Thanks so much. I started out on acoustic and played that for about 2 years before I moved up to electric. I don't think it matters too much where you start out, just as long as you stay committed and practice consistently. Looking back though, I'm glad I played acoustic those first few years because I learned a lot about chords and just playing songs in their simplest form. It really just broke me in steadily and comfortably more than anything.
i know it would probably be a really long tutorial, but that would be awesome for you to make a video lesson on how you play this song. this is absolutely the best cover ive ever seen of this song (:
i personally love the sound/feel of running delays, that combination of dotted 8ths and straight crotchet or quaver sorta thing.
sounds really good during that first prechorus i think it was, up higher so the notes are cutting through but the delay is driving through the back of it. really great my friend.
in terms of showiness...whatever u do for the lord do it with all your strength, i reckon its rockin:)
Sorry man I ask alot of questions haha. Could you possibly do a video of your pickup height for all 3 pickups. Im just in love with the tone you have.
To showy? Hendroff is alot showier then this guy in some of Hillsong's stuff. I think this guy got the balance right, best version I've ever heard. Rock on dude.
@DanScarlton forget about hendroff if you know who lincoln brewster is, i think he is the most `over the top` worship guitarist, way too much. hendroff has calmed down alot as well last couple of years but this guy is really cool!
@11bamm11 theres nothing wrong with it..hes doing it for God not for the people..and his parts of the song are very creative..u dont have to COPY each parts from the recording..its all about how u play it and how u use the talent that God gave u..
@11bamm11 my question for you is this: what is your definition of worship guitar? is it a guitar used for worship? if so, then he is doing a perfect job playing to the best of his ability to give glory to God. if your definition is the guitar used in the "worship genre" of music, then i wonder what genre that is, cause there are many types of worship. just something to think about
@SharkMako LJ is definitely a talented player. However i do agree with bamm that hes a little too showy off the first verse, well perhaps showy isn't the right word to use but more of overplayed, it takes away the attention of the worship leader's message from the song as he sings, thats imho. and as for this video being a guitar solo piece to show how hes playing it, i'm sure it sounded more dominant, hence sounded too solo-ist but its intended this way. it should sound balanced with the band.
@wes58x Thanks alot! I'll post a video tomorrow on my channel with all the gear I'm using. If you still have questions hit me up and I'll be happy to answer them all.

i liked wat u did in the 2nd intro with that solo. i would recommend doing that in the intro going to the bridge only.

I really liked your guitar part with the delay. Nice energetic part. Watch your chord at Em (2.37).
