  • The video quality is like that of a snuff film.

  • REPENT TO YOUR LOCAL CHURCH TODAY FOR BEING EXPOSED TO THIS ABOMINATION OF GOD JAPANEESE SATANIST.

FIRST PEARL HARBOR, NOW THE BRUTAL, UNTHINKABLE CONTANIMATION OF YOUNG MINDS OF THIS. I HONESTLY NEVER BELIVED THAT NOT EVEN THE MOST GOD-HATING HEATHEN WOULD EVER THINK OF SOMETHING AS THIS..... BUT NOW MY EYES HAVE BEEN OPEN. WE MUST FIGHT AGAINST THIS SICKNESS! REPENT NOW AND THUMB UP THIS POST IF YOU AGREE AND DETEST SATAN AND EVERYTHING HE STANDS FOR, FOUND IN THIS HELLISH "MUSIC"!

  • @Iamcola65 lulz

    u mad retard?

  • hey how much did u pay for the Merzbox??

  • WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK!

  • i love this garbage human

too bad he doesnt release anymore nil vagina type stuff.

  • Personally I think this live show is seems more interesting than his live shows of today. There is much more to look at than just a guy sitting at his laptop.

Alltough, Watching Merzbow at his laptop is like watching a boring old painting under a landing aeroplane.

  • good! +5

  • I AM SELLING MERZBOW VINYL for super reasonable prices. please send me a message and I will talk to you personally. ***SERIOUS** inquiries only as I dont have time to dick around.

  • Aahhh, yes

    the good old times

Merzbow was a duo in the 80s

Kiyoshi Mizutani was a member from 1981 -1989

    This is from 1985

The oldest Merzbow video ive ever seen

  • this video is from 1985

    Sadomasochismo/The Lampinak

The one guy inthe video is Kiyoshi Mizutani

  • almost all critics of harsh noise and extreme eletronic music ignore the existence of eletronic and noise academic musicians/composers since the begining of XX century. musicians like john cage, edgard varese and stockhausen to say a few names. so... they're just ignorants!!! free speech for the dumb? I think it so!

  • @fabiohosoi

all of those guys got famous for the wrong reasons, everybody makes fun of john cage and his shit music, merzbow is no different, calling this music is calling me spiderman

  • @loofascraper made fun of cage? ok. 4:53 pushes some guts too far (mine included). but what about stockhausen? varese? john zorn? messiaen? lou reed metal music machine? einstuerzende neubauten? webern? even if merzbow, or cage, is not the adequate example, the fact is: atonalism and noise are here to stay. have a linear story with lots of ramifications. and I don`t really care if it is music or not. it estimulates some people, that`s what counts.

  • @fabiohosoi

I enjoy some atonalism but what get's me angry is people like this dude, merzbow making money by doing something a 10 year old could do, let's be civil and agree it takes no talent to make this kind of stuff (noise music)

  • @fabiohosoi but some so called hipsters make MErzbow and i noticed Nurse with Wound very trendy especially at these record stores i go to in Brooklyn....

  • good i didn`t know this kind of music existed fucking good

  • The song only is 2 minutes long.

    FAAAAIIIIIIIIIL

  • All your girlie arguements belong in a kindergarden playground...put a sock in it.

  • ..and your act in typing that as a comment was pretty stupid too, don't forget... I know what I like.

  • what do you like about this? honestly? i mean, what, do you find staticky noise and banging junkyard shit on the ground aesthetically pleasing or something? or are you just saying you like this "band" to stand out and seem different and out of the mainstream. im sticking with the latter, you pretentious asshole. i may be acting harsh, but its annoying that people try to stand out by commiting to something they arent commited to.

  • my advice to you is,find something that is something MORE than this, something with an arrangement to it, not just making noise to attempt to be unique. its not working.

  • Not to argue this further, but seriously "committing"? You're too funny. I'm just watching a video of something I do honestly enjoy, because it reminds me that you really can "do your own thing" as a musician. Merz to tha max! Fuck! I would start making noise too, it's fun for me personally for some reason.

  • Do you even know what a commitment is? Just by saying you like it is a commitment as a "fan" right there. Problem is people generally either commit to a band or style of music because its either 'in', or its totally unmainstrem. They either want to fit in, or stand out. And I get the feeling that theres pretty much no way anyone can truly enjoy this music. It's not even music. If this was, and people actually liked it, bands would be shit and wouldnt be able to even play the same song twice.

  • Its just all the same...

  • First off, shut your fucking mouth and do some research. You talk about "commitment"...Merzbow has been around since the late 70's so fuck off with your "fitting in" insults, douchebag. Also, some Noise artists (Black Dice, Bastard Noise) have songs recorded that they are capable of playing Live as well. It's called "PAPER AND A PENCIL", just write down your knob and switch placements and you can easily replicate a song. Noise is a free musical ART and you are IGNORANT; stop running your mouth.

  • show me one musically pleaseant aesthetic of this 'music', and write me a song like this.

Please, because I'd really like to see you actually back up your opinion rather than just making empty insults and naming off bands that just make shit sound screechy for a living.

  • Merzbow is, for the most part, one type of Noise...HARSH Noise. He has a CD called "Merzbeat" that is beat centered and DOES have musical aspects to it. You can't look at one Noise act and say the entire genre is unpleasant...even I, someone who loves this type of music, have not yet discovered every artist, because frankly that is impossible. Same goes for Rock music. You can't say that because one band within the genre sucks, that all suck. Listen to Brian Eno's Ambient albums. That's art.

  • I definetly will. I'm sorry for not liking this particular band or genre but I shouldn't get burned out by fans of the music so often. I mean, it's youtube, I left a comment leaving an honest opnion on the music, and that should have been it but instead a bunch of people get so passionately into it that it causes a huge argument over MY OPNION. WHICH DOES NOT MATTER TO THEM so that's just why I've been commenting back and so much.

  • I understand. Well it's good you've come to some sort of understanding. The thing with Noise is that you would have had to come from a musical understanding of already unconventional music (I started with Punk) and eventually find out about more "outsider" genres; in this case, we're talking about Noise. It may seem mindless to you, but it's one of those things that cannot be understood until you experience or perform it. If I hadn't performed for friends, they would think it's mindless too.

  • well its not that i listen to 'conventional', as you say, music at all. i just don't see how everyone has to get so offended by a simple opnion about music thaty they KNOW isn't widely listened to. thing is, this all started off a stupid joke of a comment that my friend put on here. people had shitfits with it and i just basicly fed off it from there.

  • Show me one musically pleasant aesthetic of serialism.

  • I don't know about aesthetics, but Children in Gas Masks and some of Nihil Obstat's work-although not entirely in the "noise" genre-can be considered "pleasing", even the non-drone stuff.

  • ho yes, that must be boring to get all these comments about music - no music, sorry for my little jokes telling i like the melody or that is a nice love songs, I know that's not the point:) I actually like merzow a lot. He s a great true artist.

  • thanks, a beautiful love song.

  • disturbing yet amazing

  • people playing noise always look so silly and trivial

  • Absolutely lovely. I gotta save up for that damn Merzbox...

  • No...wikipedia dude...search noise music and Lugi Russolo...

  • Yes, Merzbeat and some other later releases feature beats.

  • yea me homie, its just gotta got dat funky beat! it be like how u can dance 2 it if u cant here a beat?!!

Jesus, it's supposed to be lacking any kind of rhythm or pleasing aesthetics. Anti-music. From Russolo to Cage to Throbbing Gristle, it's the real alternative to factory-spewed bile you listen to on the radio.

  • It is possible to like this AND the factory-spewed bile you listen to on the radio. I actually find this aesthetically pleasing.

  • i dont listen to the radio. or this. you see, i like to find a happy medium between shit and shit.

  • whats the fucking point of shit like this? i dont care if its a funky beat, just make it something more than noisy... get sonme sort of balance and form in the 'music'...

  • i love this, i also love the wutang clan. depends on the weather

  • only gays like you need a beat.

  • i am gay and i do need a beat? do you have a fucking problem with that?!?!?!?!?!

  • not music, more sound art really. whats wrong with that then?

  • no FUCK YOU.=]

  • lovely, lovely noise. thanks

  • wtf is this? it hurts my head

  • it is meant to do so.

  • Merzbow, música para enfermos mentales.

  • MERBOW IS A LEG END!! =)

  • Masami Akita is simply the best noisier in the world!

  • wunderbar, fantastique
