i read in select magazine years ago Squire and Reni didnt want to do the show, sound man told squire to keep amps at 6 any higher and blow fuse in studio..Squire turns it up to 8 but only Reni knew thats why he's laughing so much knowing Ian going to go off on one.

Lol, apparently there was a live audience for the show, and the studio had an in-built "sound limiter" which was in place to protect the audience's hearing. After the soundcheck, the Stone Roses thought it sounded a bit tame, so they turned their amplifiers up. Hence the reason the power cut out to their Amps at the first chorus. Hilarious. And so rock and roll...
