@lefthandovRA Yes, it's widely believed that existence is both chaotic and patterned because CHAOTIC SYSTEMS ARE NOT RANDOM. They often follow what seem to be repeating patterns based off of initial conditions, which is why fractals are so integral to chaos theory. Secondly, islamic art IS mostly based on spirituality. This is specifically true for geometric patterns, where every character used (point, line, circle, triangle, etc) are assigned symbolic meanings in reference to Islamic beliefs.

huh so the idea of not depicting muhammed and similar stuff in islamic art didn't come along 'till the 8th century due to interpretations of those-in-power who wanted to exercise further arbitrary control over their people's freedom of expression? Why am I not surprised?
