  • i hate ads

  • magnifique

  • I gotta say, Marc Cohn does a better job.

  • I love this version for it's super up beat feeling and the backround vocals make it that much better than others.

    luvv this song

  • Mar Cohn's version still reigns supreme

  • i love this song and i also love it bcz its country

  • Man thats an awesome Song.

  • @chasingerrors1 yes it is my friend

  • listening to this makes me want some catfish and sweet tea. memphis, the home of the true king of rock and roll, blues and barbeque.

  • I love every version of this song that I've heard. It's got soul and the singers who sing it keep that soul there. :D The song is amazing, no matter who sings it.

  • @100lithium oh I know how that feels!!

  • Don't really care who's singing it, its just a really great song <3

  • this is mah shit

  • my ex girlfriends favorite song...sometimes memories are a bitch

  • Guys, we can all stop arguing as to who's versions is better... The winner is clearly Scooter... watch?v=nFFYUcOp2Fo&feature=related

  • I like this song but this version sucks...way to ruin a song

  • I also like Marc Cohn's version

  • Ill be honest, I never ever liked this song til I heard Lonestar do it. I used to hear this song on the MOR stations growing up and I thought "ho hum". But now it sounds like music !

  • @WrathOfDarkEvil I actually prefer this one. The vocals are not as strained. The other singer sounded like he had a frog in his throat, lol

  • @TheWitchWay :Really? I thought it sent notification automatically. Anyhow, I can't pretend to be suprised by your obnoxious comeback; your previous comments made it clear that you've a small mind and a sour personality.

  • the first 6 words of any written laws for america by the puritans setting up the base for the american government were "In the name of God. Amen."but we cant pray at public schools something is wrong

  • @crobichaux3

No, nothing is wrong. We're not supposed to live stuck in the same point of time forever, its called progression.

  • The only thing i can sat to you, thewitchway is god bless you.

  • I like this version better because it's country at its best :)

  • @TheWitchWay sorry one more. almost every religion has some truth. i've seen things, others have seen things this is why we love God through our religions. others have the same God but they found him when they had a different name. catholic, Christian etc.

i don't know much about wicca but it is the job of our religions to spread our word and let God work with others. we should be spreading his good but sadly we fight amongst ourselves. thats why there are different Christians. God bless.

  • @TheWitchWay look here sorry your getting hate mail i'm a catholic and only a catholic but that doesn't mean I wont see you, a Jew, Muslium, Buddist, or any other one in Heaven. i don't do good cuz i'm afraid. its cuz its right.

i know nothing of wicca. i don't know if you do magic but what Christians call miracles wicca may call something else. what you call what ever your almighty God is called, if you have a God? is probably God. if you have many God those may be what i call Gods angles.

  • @TheWitchWay for your original comment music isn't trying to shove religion down throats its the artist spreading his message. its a culture thing most country are just Christians so yeah.

  • for your original comment music isn't trying to shove religion down throats its the artist spreading his message. its a culture thing most country are just Christians so yeah.

  • @TheWitchWay: I am a Roman Catholic; I really don't know much about Wiccanism. But let me tell you this: your hateful, over-the-top comments aren't earning Wiccans any respect from me.

  • @TheWitchWay no offense, but not all Americans are Christian. just cuz we're from America doesn't mean we're ok with being lumped together with assholes like lokpikr.

  • i like this song!

  • @Turkeyfeather14 bitch i don't like this song...I LOVE IT

  • @TheWitchWay oh lol i didn't see your original comment. but i agree with you, the only people i have a problem with are the ignorant ones. but you gotta just kinda ignore them, cuz they probably aren't gonna change. sad, but true :/

  • @TheWitchWay you're wiccan? cool, so am i :) but i still like this song. i'm pretty open to any religion. it's a shame other people aren't

  • TheWitchWay.... its kind of like asking why people fuck... if they want to... they want to. dont like it? dont listen to it. some of my favorite hardcore bands are christian rock. deal with it. other than that, have a good day :)

  • @TheWitchWay I hope one day you realize that,Jesus Christ is the truth and the light, and that Wicca is rooted in Satan who is the father of lies and darkness.

  • i wish i could walk in memphis i was going to this summer but my uncle mike could have us so we may next summer hopely he lives 1/2 mile from carrie underwood n someone else there 2 others

  • beautiful:)

  • This is the only "country" song I will ever like.

  • @GamerVirus888 Lonestar is hard to not like :/

  • I cry when i hear this song because i was born in Memphis and 3 and a half years ago my Nana died and her and my Paw live there.

  • This song reminds me of my childhood :')

  • I honestly can't say what version I like better. This, Cher's, and Marc Cohn's version are all great.

  • yea but marc cohn wouldnt have alowed this song if he didnt also like it....

  • This version's got a sort of country & western twist to it. Prefer it to Cohn's. Which came first?

  • @shazmeeny Marc did.He also wrote it.

  • I actually heard this verison first; And went years not knowing who Mark Cohn even was..Let alone that he sings this.

I listened to him tonight and I'm probably bias but this to me is the better verison.

    Love it.

  • Amazing song

  • If you like this version, listen to Cher's version. another exceptional rendition of a great song. I fthe artist has talent I don't think they could screw up a song this great!

  • Best version of the song personally!!!! Love Lonestar anyway and used to do Amazed at my local karaoke but never got close to doing as good as Mar Cohn!!!

  • @brandonhillen I can show the original artist because two of my neighbors grew up in the 60's-70's and one of them has the original recording on cassette and remember the CD came out in 1991 and by the time Mark Cohn's version came out it was on the CD I know what the original version sounds like if Mark Cohn's voice fits the song then I will apologize for my stupidity

  • not a lot of people know this but this is not the original version a black Soul singer 1st sang this right after Elvis's death back in the 70's it's just like most music is a victim of time until another band sings it then the newer version gets more popular than the original if someone can find his name let me know

  • @brady1574 Umm...that is not true at all. The original version was by Marc Cohn...he wrote it in 1991. And while Cohn does reference Elvis in the verse the opening line about Blue Suede Shoes is actually his personal reference to Carl Perkins who recorded Blue Suede Shoes before Elvis did. And Marc Cohn is white.

  • Love this song (:

  • 47 ppl dont have their blue suede shoes on;D

  • Thanks for the upload...

  • Can people stop bitching about who's the best? The both verisions are awesome in their own way!

    CATCHY SHIT! :D

  • @trippycat123 NO, LONESTAR CLEARLY DID IT BETTER, WITH WAY MORE EMOTION AND INFLECTION. Plus, LONESTAR is country and Cohn is..well..not. LONESTAR FTW!!!!

  • @trippycat123 I agree! There are lots of different versions of this song and they are all amazing! <3

  • danced to this song with my dad at my cus wedding

  • I have to admit I prefer Lonestar's version

  • This is amazing, but NOONE, and i repeat NOONE, can do better than marc cohn's original...:)

  • This is amazing, but NOONE, and i repeat NOONE, can do better than marc cohn's original...:)

  • Anyone familiar w/the version performed by a guy named Eli Mattson from "America's Got Talent' a few years back? I know it's not a version you'll hear on country music, but definitely a great cover if you're into a hearty, soul-ful version!

  • I love this song one of my favorites

  • 45 did not make to memphis thay died in the plane

  • @2001riden shut up. no one likes a thumbs up whore...

  • Definately love lonestar and this song together, its awesome

  • They sucked the soul out of this song.

  • @skismith39 i prefer this but there can be different versions/genre , a diff take is fresh

  • Omg i sang this song with my 8th grade choir, n i loved it so much

  • It starts and ends with "put on my blue suede shoes". The whole part about Elvis is fantastic. "waiting for the King in the jungle room"! Did you know Elvis was awarded the W.C. Handy award? Elvis and Memphis go hand in hand. Did you know there is an official Elvis Day in Memphis? Let's put on our blue suede shoes and wait for EP in the jungle room... see you at Graceland

  • Vote up if you think Marc Cohn's is better!!!!!! It is !!!!!! This is too countryish!!!(: Not to dis lonestar!

  • @2010soccerlover1 you can prefer either but this was for country radio

  • Vote up if you think Marc Cohn's is better!!!!!! It is !!!!!!

  • I had to dance to this for the waltz in gym class!! its so beautiful!

  • @twilightstickitgirl Jealous! That'd be so fun! :]

  • I listened to this song while I was walking in Memphis.

  • Now, I really love Marc Cohn's voice, but I prefer the phrasing in this version.

  • I love this song,i sing it in the car when i'm going to the store...AWEEESSOMMEEE..

  • I LOVE thins song so much great to sing to in your car

  • I like the original best, but it still sounds very good in country!

  • This is a damn addicting song!!!! Luvh it <3

  • Both Marc Cohn and this are great. of course, I like Cohn's better, but this is a very close cover that's very country which I love.

  • what a fantastic song.i like this verson better.

  • Marc Cohn's version is wayyy better. Cohn's voice is unmatchable

  • who sang the original versoin of this song?????

  • @ilovemusicsince1997 Marc Cohn

  • does anyone know where i can get the video they shot on the Naval Ship back, Had i t in my favs's and its gone :(

  • I love this uplifting song way to go lonestar

  • @imjoe1888 Your comment was going great until you wrote "VOTE UP TO AGREE!" Killed it dude. Killed it. :-/

  • @DarkAngelLights i can see where your coming from, it does really just kill it completely

  • I like the version with Lonestar and Marc Cohn together the best, something about the dynamics in there voices that goes so well together.

  • This is the best version of this song. Marc Cohn is good, but this is better. I grew up on Lonestar!

  • something about this song just puts you in a good mood

  • This is a good one but The original is the best

  • ~~~LONESTAR~~~"WALKING IN MEMPHIS"~~~

  • i just love this song...

  • cool!!!

  • i gotta Be honest i love Cher. her music is some of the best of last 30 yrs but i was kinda Let down by her Version of this Song. Her songs will Stand the test of time but that rendition is not one of them. And as for Lonestar I love this version but alas it does not touch me the way the Original did. Marc Cohen still has the top spot for this Tune.

  • much better than cher!! About the same as Marc Cohn

  • I actually rather like this version...a little more heavy-handed than the original, but that's actually how Mark Cohn is playing it live these days, with more of a rock/gospel feel than as laid back as the original studio recording was. So well written that I don't think it's possible to really make the song sound bad. =)

  • Like this if u can listen to country music one second and then one country song end's and u can go listen to rap or pop!

  • i have respect for the original writer of this song and i really like it but i'm just more fond of lonestars cover of it.. i find it easier to sing along with and i dont want to say its better i just want to say i like it a little more. but hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinions :3 i guess 39 people just missed the like button... :P

  • I love both versions by Lonestar and Marc Cohn. Same song but different sound. Both are truly very good in their own unique way and Eli Mattson did a good job a few years ago on Americas Got Talent. My opinion is that there really isnt a better version. It's just a great song, no matter who sings it :)

  • loves lonestar :)

  • I'm more of the Marc Cohn version, ( can't beat the original, sorry!) but this is really good!

  • @jek19801980 i think eli mattson does a better version of this song than maybe even the original

  • @Th2342000 Now that I think about it, he does

  • My absolutely favorite version! :D

  • dece MATE

  • this is an excellent beautiful song

oh and btw, its "waiting on the king" not "waiting for the king"

  • another version of this song.

  • I <3 this verson of walking in memphis, Marc sucks

  • Lonestar is an awsome band it would be great to see them in person i sing there songs all the time

  • i totally agree people who are stuck on one genre of music and put down all the others are soo annoying if you dont like it fine thats your opinion just SHUT THE HELL UP cause no one else wants to hear you putting down something they love

  • i hate people who say a certain type of music sucks. i have listened to and sung multiple genres, including country, pop, rock, religion-based, classical and more as part of a choir. i love them all, and i cant see anything wrong with any of them. people who hate a certain genre just suck. same thing for liking one version of the song and hating it when performed by another band, cause its THE SAME SONG!

  • this is a REALLY good version, but nothing is better than the original

  • I like this, it is awesome

  • I'M WALKEN IN MEMPHIS

  • @Dillrod90 holy shit!!!

  • this sux ass! MARK COHN ROCKED IT!!

  • Lonestar brought such emotion to this song that no other artist did for this song. Its like Life is a highway alot of artist sang, but Rascal Flatts brought the song to a whole new level.

  • Marc's version is awesome this version is also awesome dunno why ppl always get jizzed up about the original or another thing being better,...if you just listen to this song,...it awesome,...and i dont think Marc,... doesnt like this one,...

  • marc cohn's voice suits this song emotionally

  • Dont comment on ELVIS unless its to say how much he has done for music.

Elvis was and will always be the king of ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!

  • theres a pretty little thing waiten on the king down in the jungle room... more like theres 5 hookers and an ounce of blow waiten on the king

  • so many people have made a version of this song.........because its beautiful.......i really want to learn the piano part

  • sugarland just sang this song with lonestar during their live performance tonight

  • @imjoe1888 i agree this is my favorite one of Walking in Memphis (: Marc Cohn, his is great (: But i love Lonestar's more (: But this song is just a great song in general. (:

  • I liked it by Cher better---dont redo something if its not gonna b better geez.

  • This is a awesome song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lonestarrrrr (:

  • worst song ever

  • @ao9111 is it possible for you to shut the fuck up?

  • Lonestar's version is so much better than Marc Cohn's version. Marc Cohn is good but not as good as Lonestar. Lonestar also has a butt-load of amazing songs. Check it.

  • @yoyayoya101 II think Marc Cohn fits the theme better than this. They are both great, but different,

  • @randomcrap861 Well in my opinion Lonstar is better than Marc Cohn. But everyone is different.

  • Lonestar is awesome.

  • 64racer is allowed to have his opinion. Fortunately, most people(except those like him) recognize him for his infantile remarks, and dismiss them for what they are. It's like listening to a 2 year old discuss quantum physics. Are you really going to take stock in what they say? I like both versions, and have never heard Cher's. I'[m going to listen to it right now, and promise not to come back and post some condesending remarkif I don't like it. Racer. Go suck your thumb!!

  • OMG i LOVE this song! i wish they had stayed together... :C

  • I like both verison of this song .

  • I got some wonderful emails telling me I can't have any opinion on this song. I got news for you, you can rub my weiner you loser, cause the guy sounds like a lil bitch!!!

  • @64racer

get a life. instead of complaining on how you don't like them,

everyone has their own opinion you may not like it.

what ever nobody cares. just shut up and stop complaining, Really.

  • @caab11 Who the fuck are you to tell him not to voice his opinion?

  • @64racer no he sounds like a frog . This guy can actually sing.

  • YES THIS IS THE BEST ONE

    VOTE UP TO AGREE!

  • @imjoe1888 no I would have to disagree with you Chers and Marc Cohn are greater then this one bu this one still is good.

  • @imjoe1888 i think Unusually Unusual is the best

  • @imjoe1888 haha NOT dam you youngn's don't give the o.g.'s any credit but i do give props to these guys for covering a great song

  • Instruments are spot on. But I don't like how the singer mushes up the lyrics. Better than chers though.
